What to do with blank wall/play area

Victorian house, rooms were knocked through, love the open space but not sure what to do with this blank wall in the "play area"? Was thinking maybe love seat and framed photo above. We already have a sofa + armchair opposite the mirror on the other end of the room, so don't need another chair but the wall/area definitely needs something. Please help!

A long mid century modern sideboard to stash toys in with a big picture or clock to learn time telling over it.

If you're unsure about doing anything drastic you could try getting some wall stickers. They are easy to remove and you can get them tailored to whatever your kid / kids are into and then you could perhaps use the colours on the sticker to give that small area more of play identity. I like the idea of having a seat there so adults can sit and play / read with the kids. I like the ideas for chalkboard and magnetic paint but I've used magnetic chalkboard paint before and I would warn you that chalk is dusty, so if keeping this area clean is going to be an issue then think carefully about it. Also magnetic paint needs SO many coats before magnets can really stick to it, so you'd need to factor in much more paint than you think you need and a lot of time to do coat, after coat, after coat.

I had a similar design quandary - hunt for OnePlan on Houzz. She has a sliding scale of design charges, and we paid for a couple of hours design work. She came up with several designs for us, and we were able to make some changes which she incorporated into the final sketch. We're currently getting quotes for the actual build.

I like the idea of tying it in - I'd be a bit worried about painting all the walls in that colour as it may be too dark. My other thought was to continue the tongue and groove panelling around (same as the built in wardrobe finish) but costwise I think that would be too much and the same two wall dilemma would occur. I am also going to make a nice new tall headboard - I like the look of the lighter coloured one against the dark blue in your pics

Hi Tiago Silva I would think of ways of breaking the space looking down the garden with planting - currently you look straight down it with nothing of interest and to break up what you are seeing. It would be great when you have the hot tub etc at the bottom for it to be partly hidden by planting and foliage. Create what I call 'transparent height' - planting that blocks your view quite a bit, but still has gaps through it where you can see exciting and tantalizing hints of things further down the garden. Stories, journeys and a bit of mystery all make for a great garden and it would also create the 'two' garden areas/rooms feel that Emily suggests. Don't be afraid of wide (0.5 - 1.0m+) curving beds - most people run small thin beds down the side which look boring and don't have enough space for the plants to grow properly. Having larger beds also means there are loads of low maintenance shrubs you can plant that you can leave just to grow, instead of having to cut them back all the time to keep them to their space.
