What practical feature/item do you secretly crave for your house?
Comments (98)Lights which automatically turn on when I enter a room (especially in the kitchen and in the hallway from the bedroom to the bathroom) and lights inside my wardrobes (especially inside the one in the bedroom: I often get up earlier than my hubby, and it may be still dark outside, and I don't want to wake him up while I'm looking for my stockings)....See MoreWhat's your favourite summer dish?
Comments (20)I loved all the suggestions but can I be party pooper and say no to the BBQ. The smell of burning fat is quite anti social. The neighbours are enjoying their glass of subtle rose, while peeling plump prawns and the smell comes over the boundary, ugh! Cook in and take outside. BBQ belongs where everybody is doing the same thing or miles away from anybody. How do vegetarians cope with the meat aromas? I know I am not alone in this really, but difficult to say out loud given the onslaught of BBQ info. Bon appetite....See MorePOLL: How often do you cook at home?
Comments (24)Cook most days - like others above, well into slow cooker season now and always have it bubbling right to the top so that I can decant into portions and freeze for later on. Have lots of crumbles in the freezer - love a blackberry and apple crumble in the middle of winter and remembering the lovely sunny days in late summer when we went out blackberrying! Favourite cake at the moment to cook is lemon drizzle and have had a run on cooking roasted vegetables and roast lamb for guests recently - found a lovely recipe of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, chopped rosemary and thyme for the vegetables to be marinaded in beforehand! Yummy!...See MoreWhat’s your method for hand washing dishes?
Comments (1)Put the whole lot in the dishwasher!!! Including the pans after a wire brushing. The dishwasher will thoroughly clean them and dry them. I often suggest large households have two dishwashers and raise them occasionally where a client might have a back problem. Hand washing should only be for delicate or valuable items, I have yet to meet anyone who enjoys washing up!...See MoreOnePlan
