Love the pool! What are the dimensions?

Beautiful work! I love everything about the pool and its surroundings. Can you tell me the dimensions of the pool? Thank you so much!

Hi Kate,
The general and largest inside dimension is approximately 25' wide and 45' in length, but the outside radius of the pool on the deep end and how the pool returns from the outer two stairways to receive the shallow end and spa throw those dimensions slightly off.

Also, what is deceiving in this image, which is throwing off the dimensions visually, is it was taken with a wide angle lense to capture the entire experience of the space. The pool appears to project outwards on both sides, but it is more rectangular in shape and the sides are parallel. Like the head of a rounded rivet, I hope that helps.

We originally intended for this pool to have a vanishing edge, but the clients decided to take that out of the program, but wished they didn't later.

It was a wonderful opportunity and project to be involved with, great clients, architecture and surroundings to work with. It originally was a 30 acre field that was farmed. The farm assessment stayed intact.

Thank you so much for your prompt and detailed response. I know exactly what a wide angle lens can do to a picture and I understand your explanation of how the pool is constructed. It is truly a work of art what you guys have done with a field. This has helped me tremendously. I wish you did work in Louisiana. :) Thanks again!

Most of the pools we build and see in the UK are the classic rectangle probably due to practicality more than any other reason. They're more compatible with automatic covers, the swimming area is greater, heat loss & evaporation is less than with an infinity pool and they're a safer option if you're considering resale value as free-form/kidney shapes can be a bit like marmite to some. But rectangles needn't be boring! We're finding an increasing trend of adding features like integrated spas, sun-decks, multi-coloured lighting, bubble jets cascades & fountains to name but a few. Swimming ponds have been an interesting development in the UK recently coinciding with the rise of open water swimming - though they have been around since the 80s in Germany. They rely on more natural solutions for water quality such as gravel beds, plantlife and zooplankton.

I think you should take a tip from Spas where they understand that too many watery colours are an overload. Consider adding a wood or stone covering to the wall and then take your paint colour scheme from that.

You are very welcome. We can do a design for you, that's no problem, we have worked for clients all over. A pool also might be a possibility, because it is a very controllable and presis component in what we do. Beyond that, I would suggest creating a team around the rest of your project locally.

I'm working for a friend in Michigan soon after the summer ends.
