Wall mount lav faucet for shallow depth vanity?

Maximun vanity depth is 22 3/4". Would I gain space for larger sink if I go with wall mounted faucet?

The standard depth for bathroom vanity counters is 21", so it sounds like you already have enough space for the usual set-up. Yes, you could gain more space if you wall mount a faucet. One more factor to consider is different materials require a different minimum space between the front of the countertop and any cut-out. I don't know the specifics, but I think, for example, quartz countertops need less than granite or marble. I think the wall mount faucets look cool. But you also have to consider that if you have a problem, changing out a countertop mounted faucet is easy and changing wall mount is hard. Also, if you have kids, wall mount might be hard for them to reach.

Hmmm...my GC and plumbing supply folks tell me I can only get a 12"x14" undermount sink in the available space because deck mounted faucets need at least 5" to operate well. I was hoping to get a larger sink in there.

Lol AMW. There's about 15cm from top of window to ceiling & the walls are cement blocks (so no recess space). The tiled 'secret' drawer compartment looks pretty cool though. I've got a cabinet being made in oak which will have to be sufficient for my daughter. The only thing I haven't decided on yet is the punter colour material to go with my java marble tile. So any pictures or links of suitable countertop/bench tops to go with the tile & oak cabinet would be grand :)

Craig, your question on Lighting Control. The rise of LED has brought new dimension to the lighting control debate. Lighting Control Systems such as Lutron are the best way to dim LED. We use Lighting Control Systems with 0-10v, DALI and DMX dimming and it's possible to get very smooth dimming to really low levels. I don't really want to suggest one system over another. I'm sure they all have their strengths. Rako offers wireless flexibility for retrofit applications, Lutron has a superb heritage and history of fantastic reliability. I'd look for dealers who are really experienced in using the system and a manufacturer with a strong local support infrastructure. Hi Laura Yes, take a peek on my home page at the project there. This is one I did for him. As the wardrobes were already fitted, I used "cubby storage which has bins for his jeans etc. There are also further boxes to store pjs etc. When it comes to using bins or boxes to store clothes, I would advise not using anything that stacks - always go for drawers or one bin/box per cubby. If you have to move one box to get to another then it becomes a bit of a trial and things tend to become untidy quickly. thanks Jill

Just thought I would update my post as the en suite is *almost finished. Only take 6 months (rolls eyes) and still a bit of cladding above the WC to finish and on the sink unit (same walnut cladding on the front) and of course I have to have a shower screen designed as it won’t take a standard shower door. Such fun. Will take some other angle pics over the weekend once it’s all tidied up and cleaned. Just struggling now with storage!! Only got a shallow space under the sink (25cm deep- 26cm at most) to put some drawers but I can’t find any. Got space on the wc side for a little bench seat with storage under so trying to work out the best colour/style that’s not too twee.

Anne, I just sent you an e mail but wanted to add that our American Standard sink is about 15"x12 and we find it plenty big. The saleslady tried to tell us it would be really little, but it is deeper and at least as big as our old drop in.

I am wall mounting my client's vanity and also installing wall mount faucets, I have found 2 rectangular sinks which measure almost 24"X 13 . It's going to work just fine and look amazingly Italian Contemporary Design! Ciao Bambina!!!
