Kitchen sink and faucet

Hello, I am interested in the sink size and manufacturer and also the faucet. Both look good in this space and kitchen! Thanks!

the sink is a basic Frankie D bowl. I don't know the faucet. thanks

Presumably by "granite sink" you mean the man made Silgranite type in an inset style which can be used with work tops that are not solid, ir laminate? as opposed to an under mounted bowl that can only be used with solid surfaces as the cut edge is showing... in that case I would go for the Brown as opposed to cream, I think it would look more seamless and classy, also more practical, I know the light colours are not meant to stain but that would be my concern! If you do go for more expensive solid work surfaces then I would take advantage of that and have an undermiunt, and I think these may also be available in Silgranite material and have drainage grooves routered in but with a recessed surround as this prevents water going the wrong way.

I have a ceramic sink (not butler shaped) and I’ve never dropped anything in it, but the trick is to use a washing up bowl. Hate the damned things so it’s chucked in the pantry when not in use! Really easy to clean too.

In our new kitchen we got a double drawer dishwasher, so we always have space for dirty stuff. Our tea towels and hand towels live on a pull out rail in the left hand cupboard (where the rinse aid and washing tablets also live) and washing up brush, washing up liquid and sponges & cloths, live under the sink in a drawer in the right hand cupboard. Everything gets done in the dishwasher, other than roasting pans, saucepans etc, which get hand washed, drained for a while and then finished off with the tea towel and put way more or less right away. Other than that, there's only our expensive wine glasses, that get washed and dried immediately. All of which tends to keep the area quite clear all the time. I would say that the greatest difference has been made by the double dishwasher, we always used to have dirty stuff hanging around waiting, either for the dishwashing to finish, or waiting for it to be emptied of clean stuff.

I agree with siobhanmcgee90 re sinks on islands - I think they have the potential to be really messy. I also don't spend all that much time at the sink because most stuff goes in the dishwasher. I spend more time at the hob so to me it makes sense to have that facing out into the room. We have a Bora hob on our island and the sink elsewhere (2x400 bowls - bigger bowl in utility room for big pans/dog/etc). We love having the hob on the island - it's sociable when you're cooking. But you do need to know how you are extracting and I don't know whether you can have it extracting to the outside from there as there are maximum lengths for the underfloor ducting and I'm not sure what's beyond the wall to the left - is that the outside, or another house? (The max length depends on how many bends there are in the ducting). But you can have it recirculating. Have you considered all of this? I spent weeks with my builder and Bora (on and off!) planning the extraction so if you haven't yet sorted all of that (only asking as you don't mention extraction in your post) you may struggle to get it decided today. It all looks gorgeous by the way, and you will love having the open plan space with a baby/toddler/bigger child - we are at teenager stage now and still love having an open plan family space.
