how to reuse these ceiling hooks

I had this pots hanger above the old island position but now that I have moved the island to the middle of the kitchen I removed the iron hanger for extra space and I don't know how to use these hooks and don't want to remove and leave ugly holes into the ceiling

I would have thought you could take them out, fill the holes and paint over easily enough..

I think the easiest route is to take down the light (power off) pull the cable through to give you enough to play with, then clean up any rough surface and use one of the fibrous fillers or polyfilla plaster repair, sand down when dry and paint to match. If you are concerned about not having something to screw to, before you fill the hole you can push a batten up through the hole and glue it down with filler ( apply it to the underside of the batten before inserting then filler side down pull it downward to make the filler adhere to the upper surface of the ceiling, mark where the batten will be to screw to .

be careful you don't overload the circuit. nice idea having lots of bulbs but work out the amps / watts / volts on your ahem 'ring', I put that in quotes because most UK homes are indeed not 'ring' but in fact long spares connected by one 15 - 20 amp wire designed to run about 15 x 40watt bulbs. Consider a transformer running more low volt low amp options - like LEDs. there are plenty of types that match industrial retro bulb filaments. Also think about the safety of wiring. Most people don't realise that coiling wires and hanging things from metal can affect the current and earth regulations of 'lamps'. high current / fire / safe earthing eyebrows raising. The beauty of a bought option is it will probably have some form of certification and testing involved. We did something similar in an office and each tail connected on a single 12v transformer to an led bulb without an Inverter(cheaper longer lasting). Same effect much safer. It replaced the 'ever exploding bulb spider that was always making the dimmer switches melt option' that ran on 240v looked great, but wasn't really thought through.

Not advisable to re-use them - just collect dust and dirt. Polyfilla the small holes and a dab of paint is best.

I think it shouldn't be that big a job to fill and re-paint. If they're really staying how about making a lighting fixture out of them? Buy a plug, some bright coloured wire, a fitting, a groovy bulb (or bulbs), wire it up, plug it in and arrange!

If the filling idea doesn't take your fancy can always paint them to blend them in
