Maybe it's just the picture, but that slide looks ridiculously steep!

Was this a question or a comment/opinion? The slide may convey and translate differently in the photograph. We custom designed this bed ensemble and our client's children have enjoyed the slide very much. One of the critical considerations in a bed that has specialty features is the use of space and safety, so these details are always reviewed with the client for their input and approval of angles and space variances. Hi, just turn the bed 90º. I don't know if bed's length fits into room's width. Your partner can sleep in the side closest to the 'exit'. About adding curtains, it's not stupid, hidding the bed will give you the feeling of being out of the bedroom. Norikei www.norikei.com

Thank you for sharing Kate. We are aware and know that any final plans will have to work with existing service points. Hopefully, we will pull together one or two floor plans to share with a building contractor who is well versed in ex-local reno before sharing our application with the councils planning team. I did read on our council website that they have two teams - one that deals with planning and another that you can seek advice from before putting in an application. I think there is a fee to use the second service (much smaller than the actual planning fee) but they will give us a very strong idea whether our plans are likely to be approved or not.
