Love the color

I have asked my cabinet maker to have a dark maple. I know it is difficult to get maple stained dark. Do you know if they did anything special to get these cabinets this dark?

we have used sherwin williams for 330 years this particular dark walnut stain on maple is a dye stain or a two step process hope this helps

So, where can you get this "dye stain" from? We are trying to get a dark stain for our new maple railing and cannot get it to take! We have tried numerous products on some scrap pieces and nothing works. Someone said that maple is too hard of a wood, but there has to be something that will give it a nice dark brown espresso color. Help!

maria galvano thank you, I love them too and make me smile whenever I look at them, I bought them from a Bedouin woman in Petra (Jordan). They remind me of an amazing trip to Syria and Jordan some years ago, travelling independently using public transport and meeting amazing people along the way, both locals and tourists. Loved Petra so much and the local Bedouin people, went back for a second day to have another look around as well as sit and drink mint tea and listen to amazing stories ... and yes, they make my home feel alive as most things in it have some connection to a life lived. I would select one or two colours max (complimentary colours are easier to work with) and then combine this with more natural or neutral finishes so either woods, stone, white or grey (cold grey will look generally more contemporary or warm greys will be a bit more comforting)
