Window Curtain Brackets

Hello. I was toying with the idea of having a wall of curtains juxtaposed next to built in cabinets but thought the curtain bracket would prevent the closet closet door from opening easily. From the picture the light fixture is blocking and I cannot tell....Does the curtain bracket does indeed impede the closet door from opening? Can you tell me the type of bracket used?

Good planning! If you use a spacer on your built-ins and shallow depth brackets you will be fine!

Thank you for responding so promptly! Can you recommend any good shallow depth brackets? I have been browsing the standards home improvements site for the same without much luck.

I would also agree that you can buy poles which have passing brackets & C rings to enable more brackets to be fixed. There are also some pretty modern tracks on the market now available in colours other than white. If you just want to add warmth to the room, you could think about having blinds for privacy and then just adding a short length of track or pole at each side of the window on which to hang 'dress' curtains! So that you have the effect of curtains without the expense of having to cover such a wide window

Thank you Marina, I have attached some more photos and the plan of the area. The ensuite door will end up opening out onto the wall to the left of the window as you look at it. Thank you Jonathan, islet would be a good option though my vision was romantic, billowing, full, sweeping curtains typically! Celerygirl LOVE the clever image, thank you!! I would be sad to cover the top Pretty part of the window with blinds but I guess I could have them rolled right up...

Hi Lisa, I completely understand your dilemma, I'm moving house soon and have exactly the same type of window as you. My suggestion would be to have a Voile roller blind, as I know that you said you don't like Voile curtains. This would be a great way of keeping your privacy in the room, whilst still allowing plenty of light into your room. I'd then pair this with Dorma Window Curtain Poles (the would be to the side of the recess rather than within). I've attached images of both of my suggestions below. I have tall Victorian windows and have fairly recently bought new curtains for the living room. Bespoke options were extortionate so I bought off the shelf (actually off the Internet!) John Lewis and Dunelm have a small selection in an extra long version, as well as La Redoute and Anthropologie. I then paid a local seamstress to shorten to the perfect length - she charged £40 for two pairs, one of which were extra wide too.
