Need help for a home office

Dear Houzzers,
I was hoping to get advice on the design of a media wall and home office. Idea is to put a big TV under the eaves (photo 1) because I have enough space in front for a sofa. However, I am not sure how to put up a built in home office so close to the window (photo two). I think cabinets may look funny ending so close to a window (or 1 metre before) and out of symmetry. Would shelving be best? Desk to run all the way along. Sorry about mess.

Comments (2)Spray frost or use decorative cling film on the glass in the china cabinet so you can't see in it and use it to organize all the stuff. Pull the table away from the wall and use an upholstered bench in the nook to seat a 5th person at the table for dining. Comments (3)Hi Karen, I have a space like that as well! But I have spread it all around my house, the only 'safe' place left is the bathroom. How is the lighting in your space? Do you have a window? Its important depending on this as you have to design with this in mind. You don't want to feel claustrophobic in your creative space. Do you need a permanent desk/craft table or are you expected to have items such as computer and phone on your desk. You can make a sturdy table that can be folded up to the wall and when in use can come back down. This same table can have smart storage solutions placed on them (mechanical addition) so it would be a rack storage when up or down. Houzz has some nice images for inspirations for small spaces and studios. Comments (5)Thank you for your help. I was thinking of putting a large bookcase on wall that backs onto utility room but I want to get the desk location right first. I just need plenty of storage and enough space to work on a laptop. I would like the room to double up as a nice reading room too I think. This looks like a wonderful working space in the making. Do you have an image where both sides of the walls can be seen? It looks very 2d and additional images can give your space better perspective.
If you opt for shelves you can create doors for them, your items will be nicely stored away.
You can also create drawers in that space, though they will not be as deep as in the image but will be functional.
