The rug is beautiful! Where can I get one? Also, are the walls and curtains more of a Tiffany Blue in person? Thanks!

The rug was a custom carpet made into a rug. And yes, the walls and draperies are more of a Tiffany Blue in person, the color of their famous boxes!

Thank you for the information! Would it be possible for you to let us know the type of carpet you used to make the rug? Room is gorgeous! Love the added touch of the boxes around the room.

Hi! I'm wondering whether you really need a rug? Your parquet is of a beautiful colour and there quite many different colours in the living room ; grey sofa, brown chair (lovely one) and fuchsia curtains. Plus the cushions. I think that perhaps changing the curtains colour will make it more easy to find a rug but if you want to keep the curtains and have a rug I would suggest to match it with the parquet colour to keep the balance. Grey rugs can be beautiful but then you have a dark brown chair which might not look too good together despite having a grey sofa. As for the size, the current one is definitely too small. Another option is to put a bright fur small rug, it won't cover the whole room but will add a cosy touch without being too heavy a detail and keep in balance the rest of the room, meaning it won't upset the grey sofa or the brown chair:). In addition, bright fur rugs look great on dark floors.

How about something like this which is contemporary. You can introduce acqua and blue to lighten the grey. These walls really soften the room or you can go lighter on the walls still. It gives it a calmness and soft feel. If you can find a rug like this with style it would be ideal. Don't go for the red traditional rug look......very boring!

Hi Sian, If the rug is fairly neutral and compliments the rest of the soft furnishings, it can work really well to put a rug on to a carpet. Perhaps, a thin rug in a solid neutral colour like this [one[(https://www.houzz.co.uk/products/linie-asko-rug-off-white-170x240-cm-prvw-vr~112200967). I've also seen some really nice examples of bright colored rugs looking great on carpet, I have attached an example [here[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/penthouse-duplex-west-chelsea-nyc-contemporary-home-office-new-york-phvw-vp~60785744). I think it depends a lot on taste, but it's definitely important to get something waring if it's going to protect the carpet underneath from wear and tear. Hope this is helpful. Kate The Houzz Team

So, I've thought about it :-) Looked at your inspiration photos and came up with this. Be honest about what you like or don't like. The rug is from Dunelm https://www.dunelm.com/product/think-royal-nomadic-5746-grey-and-blue-rug-1000138143#Colour%20Group=Grey Cushion covers: HM Home (cheap and cheerful) Nest of tables and knitted pouffe: Wayfair And I thought that a solid green fabric could be nice for the footstool.
