what colors to use ? Help!!

hi everyone .. so our house is in the process of constriction ... and i want an advice about what paint colors for the walls goes with medium hardwood floor ... also the color of the kitchen cabinet with the same floor .. here are some pictures ''the third picture is the kitchen '' .. hope you help me .. thanks !

If you want a contemporary feel then I would paint soft grey with a fresh white trims on the timber work. http://www.farrow-ball.com/manor-house-gray/colours/farrow-ball/fcp-product/100265.

I thought I'd update everyone as to what we settled on as most of you won't have seen the finished post. Went went for Little Greene French Pale Grey on the walls and then a Grey Quartz worktop which had worked quite well. To stop it from being clinical, we opted for some textured wallpaper in the dining area which is Bala Storm (I think) from John Lewis. We then added some natural tones using a wooden table, and then Vitra chairs. Along with wooden fruit bowl etc. The main window will have wooden venetian blinds, and the bay windows will probably be done in a darker grey material as the perfect fit style blinds you find in conservatories

Help using space at top of stairs. What would you do?

Hi, Using something as simple as a balustrade here would help bring in the maximum light however you would then be left with "dead" space having a light fighting hanging down over this area could help light the space at night and also become a design feature. Sometimes the most obvious solutions end up becoming the most striking. Hope this helps. FMA

Hi Dundrum, sorry I don’t think grey would go at all, It was more to show you the variety of styles in vinyl rather than the colour. Here’s some more appropriate, warm shades, creams and beiges as well as wood effect. If you have time, visit a flooring shop and you will see 100s of examples, that’s what I did. I did also choose a Moroccan patterned vinyl below, but I’m not sure the shade is quite right? I really like the first dark wood effect one.
