Luxury vinyl flooring

Views please. I am thinking of using Karndean throughout a new property. Previously I would have rejected vinyl, but am persuaded that it looks so much better now and Karndean is particularly good. Has anyone used and can offer an opinion? Does it really look the part and does it stay looking good?

I'm not sure about that particular name but I have it throughout my house. It looks amazing and a lot of people have commented on how good it looks.

Downfalls to vinyl are that
- it can rip, say for example moving furniture around.
- floor has to be smooth or it shows imperfections
- prone to denting if you drop something on it.

I have a Rhino vinyl floor in the hall of my house. It is about 0.5 inch thick, cushioned vinyl flooring. The wood floor just could not handle the wet boots & Dogs in the winter months. It does look great! and we have had no problem in 2/3 years. Secretly, I can still tell that it is not the real deal though and longer term am on the look out for some traditional stone slabs.

I think it looks fantastic, clean and simple (possibly biased as this is the way I've done it but using Cashmere gloss cabinets and Egger Shorewood-driftwood worktop and splashback). No grout lines, a simple wipe and you're done.

Are we talking Luxury Vinyl Flooring? I'd say it's a personal choice. The vinyl version is probably easier to maintain and softer underfoot. And some look very much like the real thing.

I’d be inclined to have any lines in your hallway go from left to right Your floor at the moment makes the eye go straight forward Your colours are great for bouncing light around A vertical mirror just as you walk in would give the room a feeling of space Small mosaic tiles would suit You could put your picture into some of the carpet websites and then change the flooring

I'm thinking of going for karndean in my new house for the first floor. Have seen it in 1/2 houses and very pleased with how it looks.
