Which colour blue in a north facing bathroom

I have a north facing bathroom where the tiles, ceiling bath, loo etc are all white. Our house is rather Scandinavian, in whites and different shades of blue, mixed in with brown floors. I wanted to have a blue in this bathroom also, but afraid it will be too cold? any suggestions of a warm blue? (other blues in use are F&B parma gray, Fired Earth Nordic light and duck egg)

The middle one looks the warmest. I've had Dulux Amazon Beat 5 in a bathroom before which was a warm blue.

I think the cheaper finish actually goes beautifully with the worksurface, but it's a very icy colour and will look very cold, if you mind that. I don't think the other colour will go so well - it's too pure a blue. + 1 for trying duck egg blue.

Hi Jep, As it’s a north facing space cooler toned colours will look dull and unappealing. Instead you should opt for any colour that has a warm toned base. If you wanted to be really adventurous, you could go for a full coverage darker or jewel toned colour to create a more dramatic, opulent space. This will play with the proportions and the light and create a more snug, cosy feel. I agree with Sonia and Johnathan above, a mid or light grey and I really do like the style of tile in the pic Sonia posted above too! possibly if you were able to remove the tiled border you wouldn’t be tied as much with colours and I think it would make it look bigger actually! just my thoughts :-)

There are a lot of creative downstairs loos out there! Coloured sanitaryare would look great with some mad wallpaper in a pocket-sized space. I'm trying to create a restful space without seeming too chilly. Picking the right paint and to tie everything in is tricky. As you say, if I choose something with too much yellow it will be magnified in the small space. The upside is that if I get it wrong I don't have so much repainting to do.....

Blues all tend to be cold but the green blues are the coolest. White added to any colour also cools it so it is a hard one. Blue can work with stone colours so I would use it as an accent rather than all over walls.

I agree with colourhappy but you could try little Greene bone China mid blue. If you want something bolder, try a denim colour or something with a purple undertone.

Hello,

The first and second ones would go perfectly with your white Bathroom. The second one looks the warmest but I would definitely pick the first one as I think it would look much nicer with white.

By the way Scandinavian Style is a lovely choice!
