HELP bring my chimney breast back to life
Comments (6)To be honest if it was me and I was going to paint the brick then I would go and paint it so that it is obviously painted rather than trying to recreate the red brick look with paint. I think it will just look fake whereas if you were to paint it white it would compliment your walls nicely and you would still get to keep the texture of the brick without trying to make it look like something it's not if that makes sense. There are great tutorials online from bloggers who have done it if you are interested in seeing how the finished result would look. You could full on paint it white or whitewash it for a more watered down paler look. Good luck with your project :)...See MoreHelp! Chimney breast dilemma
Comments (3)Hi, Agree with Carolina, also you could put cupboard doors on the front which open up to reveal the bedside units and shelves - may be easier from a tidyness point of view (if you're anything like me!). Here's some ideas for you... This one shows the kind-of effect I was meaning with the wardrobe door. Hope this helps!...See MoreShould I paint the chimney breast a dark shade?
Comments (32)Tbh I’m not sure on this one! I like your living room as is, the inchyra is a strong colour, just the chimney breast, id say no, the whole wall and the fire place surround done in deep cloth....possibly but it will make that whole wall feel heavier and you focus will automatically go to it I feel, for super dramatic, the whole room inchyra, the fireplace and all associated wood work in deep cloth.....I’d probably go for it tbh! Sort of in for a penny, in for a pound....See MoreHelp with positioning of false chimney breast!
Comments (6)Hi, I know it’s not what you specifically asked (plus really not the best person at layouts 😊 ) but I’m just wondering if the general layout is set in stone? Most people would prefer an open plan kitchen/living at the back with access to the garden etc. It also seems a bit tricky accessing the utility and office. in terms of alternative plans if you do go this route, try OnePlan on here.
