What is the hallway floor covering? What material is it? Where is it from? Thanks.

Hi there,

The Flooring is a stunning light stone, unfortunately it had been installed before we started work on the job as this was a new build so we have no information on it.

Fab new kitchen! I think I would stick with the Achromatic scheme rather than bringing in warm neutrals like creams or browns. Although they can work sometimes it is much harder and complicated to get right. I would go for glazed doors and they look fab, let light in and will work with that scheme and design. Chrome handles will tie in with the kitchen door furniture too. For the doors themselves I would go either black and all walls and woodwork white or the doors and woodwork white and a subtle grey on the walls for a little contrast. I would do one of the walls in the kitchen in a chalkboard paint which will really work well with the design and add further impact to the space. Hi Hilary, We can't help but imagine a beautiful parquet floor in that hallway - we agree with colourhappy about having a durable carpet on the stairs too to add contrast. Hallways in old houses just ask for parquet, and you could go modern or traditional with the colour. Sisal is lovely, but I think you need to think about how to clean going forward. I'd stick to a good quality carpet for the stairs and your LVT for the Hallway. Re the LVT.......going for something with a pattern or textured look will hide the dirt. We have Karndean Van Gogh. During the day we all troll in and out constantly including the two dogs and it's great. You could go for a pattern:- Harvey Maria - Hardwicke range There are several shades here that go with your F&B Pigeon:- I like the Pear Tree Green. You could then follow with a dark grey carpet to pick up on the line around the pattern in the same colour. Or Amtico Decor also has some life and will look good in a Victorian Hallway. Lastly, do get rid of the black plastic framed pictures and red shelf...................... replace with a 'large as you can get' ornate mirror to bounce around some light from the front door, over the top of a narrow console table.

You could always get one made. A carpenter or joiner will be able to make one to your specific size. The decorative sheet material you see on the front of so many is easily available.
