Dining chairs won't fit
Comments (36)Ok, so 52 inches is just about 133 cms which will give you ample room to seat two 'standard' width chairs between the legs of the table. Most dining chairs are around 50cms wide and this would give the following spacing table leg > 11cm > chair > 11cm > chair > table leg. When we are working out what size table someone may need, or how many chairs they would like to seat, we usually work on spacing of no less than 5cm around any chair - this is still comfortable elbow/leg room. So if you work on this basis, of going no less than 5cm, the chairs you will eventually find for your table should be no more than 59cm wide. So don't forget to always carry a tape measure when you are out and about! You never know when you are going to come across the chairs you want. I hope this helps...See MoreWhat satin/eggshell to paint wardrobes white that won't go yelllow?1
Comments (5)Hi Nell51. I have done lots of painting recently and have used both oil based and water based paints. We live in a house with lots of conker coloured varnish and I too prepped it with Zinsser Bin. I then used Rustins water based undercoat to further obliterate the dark wood. The oil based paint I would highly recommend is Little Green. I have never used such good quality paint before and there is a great choice of colours (we opted for Portland Stone pale eggshell). I have also used Farrow and Ball eggshell (Shadow White) which is water based and therefore shouldn't yellow. However I discovered a whole new vocabulary of expletives whilst doing this as it was like painting with PVA glue. Even though I used the right brush and have a lot of experience of painting I found it awful to use. I then discovered a product called Owatrol which is a waterborne paint conditioner. You add it to the F&B paint and it increases flow and becomes more like an oil based paint. It is the best product I have ever discovered and worth every penny. My language has improved too. Hope this helps....See MoreHelp me find a door that won't break the bank?
Comments (5)Thank you for your comments. I want to keep the door as we haven't had energy calcs done and with glass content I wanted to keep separate. Also, with a toddler and second baby on the way it would be handy to have a quiet room and also door to separate when open to garden in the evening. Love love the idea of pocket doors emmauk , as it provides the best of both worlds. I like this style in the picture. Do you have recommendations on companies and what would be required for installation? A joiner or upvc fitter? Thanks Leah...See MoreHelp. I need colour choice help for exterior render
Comments (7)This was in 2011, when we just started renovating. Top windows are new (ral7039), walls ral9010. You see the neighbour on the right has bright white, the attached on the left some creamy tan. (Landscaping credits go to previous owner..) Don't have many new photo's, but this was a few months ago, when we had the front door and livingroom window done too (pvc): Lower edge on the wall still needs some paint.. And landscaping hasn't been done yet either, but we did take out the dug in roof tiles.. (plus we're slow renovators LOL no stress)...See MoreMarie Tulin
