Free standing baths are only suitable for larger rooms where you have the ability to position the bath with free access all the way round, I regularly remove them from smaller bathrooms when doing re-fits, people like the aesthetics of the free standing bath and plough ahead and install them against a wall, the result is a disgusting accumulation of dust, fluff, pubic hair etc, this will happen quite quickly and you will regret having gone down this route. The concept of having the bath with no curtain is interesting though, in a bathroom around 2.1m square, most of the bathroom will be effected by splashing, the room will need a wet room floor former, and will require that the whole room is tanked prior to tiling, have a look at. (http://www.wetroominnovations.com) I usually use their Maxus formers and Purus gully traps. you can indeed get a flexible waste connection, have a look at McAlpine "Flexcon" range, these are available through any reputable merchants, these are quite substantial and would stand up to semi regular movement, if your free standing bath is an acrylic bath it won't be too heavy, so moving it would be quite straight forward, but I would suggest having small felt pads on the feet to protect the tiled surface, also from a drying point of view, Karcher have a very good little gadget for cleaning windows, which vacuums up the water, I often mention it to clients and any who have bought one have been delighted at how easy it is to use, it will leave the floor almost dry once you have used it, one note of caution would be your choice of floor tile, you will need a porcelain tile that has an R rating, this is a slip resistant rating and would be most advised. another note of caution, because the splashing will not be controlled, any vanity or wood based furniture will deteriorate. While white fencing isn't for me in a back garden, I have seen loads of pics here on Houzz with white fences and, although they mostly seem to be over in the USA (let's face it - they tend to have better daylight in parts of North America than we do in the UK) I do like the look of it, though. I especially like the whitewash appearance if you're going for a Cottage Garden as it adds a weathered appeal. I went for black in my garden which looks pretty stylish, especially with the greens and whites in front of it. I used to live in a house with a roof terrace and we were advised at the time to not use white on the inside of the parapet walls as it would glare too much. The chosen option for the wall was pale grey (before it was fashionable) and it worked really well. For this reason, I wouldn't have gone for white fence or white furniture.

Hi Senspasce and thank you my husband works for a large tile manufacturer and the tiles where purchased on slight seconds and a great tiler who works all over the world did the tiling beautifully. The design was copied from the company brochure so I knew it was foolproof design in its day which was over 20yrs ago so not done so bad really certainly had my moneys worth. The window is very heavily obsurced glass with leaded design so does not need blinds which cannot be fitted as casement to window is not deep enough I have had curtain treatment on expandable rod but like the light and openness. I prefer a bath we use to have shower on bracket with a shower curtain when I had new mixer and taps I did away with them to open the room up and getaway from water mold building up we use bath mat on floor when showering and not a problem with no screen a lot less cleaning too never a problem without them.

Wall mounted or deck mounted taps?

If you are having wall mounted taps, then the wall has to be chased out to allow for the pipework, so, as you point out nothing will be on view or accessible. Thus regardless of whether or not you then tile, and you had a problem with the plumbing ( maybe not the tap itself ), you would have to dig everything back out. We had Grohe Wall mounted taps and have just changed them for Burlington as we are upgrading the bathroom. We never had a problem. It's a risk you take.
