Help urgent colour advice needed- kitchen not working!

Hi, I am having a new kitchen fitted at the moment. We have skimming stone on the walls, downpipe on the island and wimbourne white on the cabinets. It doesn't look right at all!

The wimbourne white in my kitchen which I expected to be a soft white but white nonetheless is a pretty heavy cream with a rather nasty limey green undertone- i really don't like it all and it looks very different to the tester pots. I wonder if it's because it's been matched..? Anyway. I am thinking about getting the cupboard repainted but would really appreciate some advice!!! This has cost us a significant amount of money and I don't like it at all! Please help...

Oh ... Might it be worth waiting till it's all finished - then re assess ? As with tops on etc it might feel better ?!
My kitchen gets repainted when I fancy a change and it only costs a couple of days labour from my great painter Steve ( if you are in Dorset contact me for his details !)

As I can see that you dearly need more storage space !!! The Myson needs a depth of 302mm so you could use half depth tall or base cabinets or if the room lends itself to it - ie without cramping the entrance and exits - you have a full size DW to fit in - ideally near the sink and bin would be better than where it is now - but you also need to avoid putting it in the corners or when it's open you won't be able to reach across to put anything away ! Its always tricky to advise with no measurements - and no info about you or your family - or on wether you are looking to do this on a tight budget or a lavish one ! If you are looking to just do it up and sell the home - my advice would be to nip into your local kitchen shop and seek their advice and planning service as a generic kitchen plan would be fine for this purpose. If this is your home for a good few years yet - then I'd suggest getting a design done specifically for you, to suit not only the room - but how you cook, how much storage you need and how much prep area you need too etc etc - a bank of Tall units might well be the way to go - but it does take away worktop space, and the hatch ( if you use it ) - there may be other options - had you thought about including the dining room to make the space one large kitchen diner ?! Or having tall but half depth cabinets along one side to give easy access storage and a longer sink run ? Having a built under fridge and freezer or moving the current one to what might be storage behind one of those doors like Lisa suggested ? That way there may even be room for a freestanding chopping block or modern mini moveable island in the middle of the room - if that's the kind of thing that would work for you ?! Depending on what's behind those solid doors - You could even consider blocking up the back door and changing part of the window to a door and having a galley kitchen ?! There are so many options - (and so many unknowns ) a designer needs to know more about you, your budget and your hopes and dreams for the place ! Don't limit yourself to just replicating what's there !!! Hiring an independent kitchen designer isn't expensive - and shopping around can save you so much more than the design fee ! I know - as my clients tell me this all the time !!! Sorry that turned into a small book ! And my coffee has gone cold ! Coffee break over - will need to microwave it !!! ;-)

You could use a Roman blind, fixed right at the top so that when part down it could cover the wall above the window. Or if you want curtains and the depth of the reveal is about half the width of the window you could use hinged poles which swing against the wall during the day then back over the window during the night. You should be able to find some on the Jim Lawrence website.

You will need a few tester pots to get it right. If you paint it a blue grey it may look chilly, especially with cool LEDs. My kitchen floor is similar to yours and North facing. I tried lots of different greys but ended up with Skimming stone as it has a tinge of warmth but a definite violet undertone. I went well with the deep olive I also chose. Pavilion grey and Cornforth white have a cool blue undertone but they may look cold - best to try a few out in both natural and artificial light. This shows skimming stone (and olive green) and my floor tiles look very similar to yours. to yours.

Hi! Good luck with your new home purchase! These floor plans could definitely be improved on. I recently did a facebook live giving 3 tips for assessing your floor plan to check if it's any good or not. You will find this helpful and you can watch it here: https://www.facebook.com/iarchitectUK/videos/327990864662386/ Questions that could help you decide your ground floor plan arrangements: 1. Do you want the kitchen to be in the middle of the house or would you prefer it to be closer to the garden to get more natural light and ventilation? 2. Do you need direct access from your utility room to the garden? Do you go out often to hang laundry out to air dry? Do you keep your recycling in the utility and need to take it out to bins regularly? 3. Do you want the space to be more open plan or broken plan or flexible (with large doors that slide or open between spaces so you can open them up or close them down)? 4. Where do you want direct access or views of the garden? 5. What will you do in the darker parts of the house - in the middle of the floor plan (where the kitchen is now)? (hint - watching or working at a screen can be better in these spaces because there's reduced glare) 6. How many kitchen units do you want? 7. Do you have a preferred kitchen arrangement and why do you prefer it? (for example, gallery style, U shaped, L shaped, with an island, with a peninsula, etc...) For the first floor the stairs and landing are very confused. Things to think about for the 1st floor: 1. Where are the drainage and water supply pipes running? 2. Can all the floors be lifted to the same level and the stairs simplified / altered / reduced? 3. How many bedrooms do you need? How many of these need an ensuite? How big do they need to be - for double or single beds, how much wardrobe space, with space for kids to study / makeup station or dressing table, etc...? Hello! I agree with one plan. You should wait until it is all in place. Personally, I love the colours combination! The cabinets' colour looks good... But I am only looking at a photo!

Hi. I agree with Karen and Emanuelle, it looks good and would wait. Are all the colours matched? The Wimborne looks true to colour to me but hard to tell from a pic! Have the walls been painted already? If you don't like it once finished look at wevet (doesn't have a cream undertone) or cornforth White ( look at kitchen images combined with raisins/downpipe) rather than ŵalls or purbeck stone. This is purbeck with railings or will be when I can post a pic!
