Advice on colour before the decorators leave please ...
Comments (8)Thank you so much JMW. I love the idea of mismatched dining chairs. We will have the matching ones we've got for the time being but something to think about for the future. Oh and the integrated blinds are grey, a paler shade than the frames, so I have missed the boat on putting in white ones. I did consider that but my husband thought it would be too much white. Thank you too Tamp - your encouragement and support is gratefully received and I'm thrilled you think it looks great! I think it's a good point that once the floor protection is up it will change things dramatically. Will post pics once we've finished! Thanks again....See MoreUrgent bathroom layout and advice needed please
Comments (7)As Jonathan says, you start with the Soil pipe, and if you've agreed with your bathroom fitter that he's able to put the pipe across the wall behind the toilet and under the bath to get to the outside wall, then that's fine, but if not, you really need to discuss it with a professional. There are many reasons and regulations that you need to stick to with regards placement of soil pipes, because sometimes you need access to unblock them. When designing a bathroom, it is important to know where you have to have some items and then decide where you can put the other items that you want. Check the soil pipe situation as this dictates where everything else can go. I suspect unfortunately, that if you can't solve the soil pipe problem and the toilet needs to go on the outside wall ( which is the normal place for it ), then you may have to have a re-think and possibly change what you have purchased. I've tried to have a re-jig with what you've purchased and moving the toilet to it's normal position, but i can only make them fit if you do what Jonathan suggests. Even then, I would suggest that the door be moved along the wall to accommodate the tall unit. You will have pipework from the vanity that you need to box in, it can go under the bath, but at least it's just water not the soil pipe. I would have also considered a bath to fill the whole gap of 2000mm not a 1700mm, but you can use the gap to build a space at the end both covering the pipes and giving you somewhere to stand toiletries. The taps for the bath aren't marked, so i'd probably put them on the bottom end nearest the vanity on the flipped plan below....See MoreUrgent colour advice: open plan living room-kitchen required, please!
Comments (3)It's really hard to have an opinion on a screen............uinfortunately, colours just look different to people as the colours on their screens differ from one another.......does that make sense. I can tell you however, having used Dusted Moss 2 & 3 on many occasions, that it is a lot more green than it looks on your chart above, which looks grey. It has grey tones, but as the name suggests it is a green. Dulux is for sure, lovely paint,. The colour charts however, aren't so accurate and the paint mixing compared to the colour cards is also not that accurate. I always suggest to people to go get colour cards and testers and paint at least an A4 piece of paper with 2 or 3 coats. Move the paper around as the paint changes with the light in differing positions. Probably not what you want to hear, but you can't choose paint from a computer screen and hope for any accuracy at all. I now prefer Valspar ( B&Q ), used to be Crown. The colour matching is phenomenal. The accuracy to the cards is spot on, and the paint is good. I used to be a Dulux everything fan................but since discovering Valspar I have been converted....See MoreSmall bathroom layout please help! Urgent before builder murders me!
Comments (30)Hi guys, I am back again with a bathroom query, I have an image attached. I really don't like the current layout for this bathroom and I'm thinking if we move the toilet to the wall on the left under the sink and put the bathroom vanity where the toilet currently is so that this is the first thing the person sees when the door is open. Do you think this works? Again advice is hugely appreciated. I honestly had no idea finalising bathrooms would be so difficult, and the support I have received on Houzz has been the best of any professional I have met so far so thank you all! Any questions please do let me know!...See Morejessica615
