I agree with everything that's been said. I am looking for exactly the same sort of finish for a bathroom retrofit - going for a wet room. I did find this fabulous range in 'Champagne Bronze' finish: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/collections/trinsic-bathroom-collection and- https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/T17T459-CZH2O BUT the (Canadian, I think) company do not deal with UK at all. The Yemen is on the list of countries where they have dealers, but not GB! I did email Delta Faucet but they never replied. You do see this range sometimes on eBay and Amazon. They are a bit pricey though and shipping costs are high, also my plumber cannot figure out if the range is compatible with our pipes/electrics/technicalities etcetc So, wake up UK plumbing companies!

Hello Michelle, I love a very pronounced swan neck style.. Consider a swan neck with a pull out spout perhaps.. Also nickel as opposed to chrome.. These might suit.. If you're interested in something somewhat different.. What is really fabulous at the moment is the idea of diy made taps.. Really it boils down to the style of kitchen and sink... Any of these can work in a modern or traditional but of course it's entirely down to your personal preference.. There are so many and more I could suggest.. There's also the question of budget.. I can specify anything from £100- to well over a G! If these aren't your idea of style on tap... Traditional style brass fittings... One thing I'd say, like you I like a tap that is useful... if you don't have that then you need to consider other ways to rinse, clean and fill.... : ))

Well, that decision is very much your call! To reply to your questions: Is it possible to assess the quality? If you have the two side by side and know what you are looking for, you will get a flavour. But as I have said, because so much hinges on the quality of the brass, the manufacturing & machining process etc, and because any problems are likely only to come to light a couple of years down the line, that is where the challenge arises. So if things do go wrong, who will help you put them right? Another question to ask yourself: who do you trust more to tell the honest truth about what you are buying: a call-centre operative on sales commission looking to make a quick sale to someone they’ll never speak to again, or a local independent studio owner who knows he’ll be on the hook to fix it if it goes wrong, and whose reputation hinges on selling quality that lasts? Also consider the product you highlighted in the image: a concealed valve shower. All the core mechanical parts of that product are about to be embedded behind no doubt beautiful tiles or expensive shower boards, out of sight. If problems do occur, you may not realise it for some time. Putting it right is not necessarily as straightforward as replacing a tap washer! Is spending a little more now on quality a good investment, given the cost of putting right a leaking installation? Of course, you are not facing a “binary” decision. You could seek out some other quality brands who may have similar products at slightly keener prices. One we use is Flova, and while they are manufactured in China, the overall process & quality control is good in a single purpose built factory, and the back up support in the UK has been excellent. Personally, there are a few items in bathrooms I encourage customers not to skimp on: shower trays; showers & taps and the WC pan & cistern. These are the core functional items in a bathroom. If anything goes wrong, they can cause larger problems, and/or are awkward/expensive to fix. So worth going for trusted, quality brands on these. Make savings on secondary items - basins, tiles, worktops, furniture - if you wish to squeeze. They are less critical. But that is just me!
