Would love to learn the maker and pattern of the dining room chair fabirc - simply beautiful... as is the Christmas Decor!!!! Thank you!

Thanks so much for the kind words. The chairs are by Design Master and the fabric is Kravet. I checked and it has been discontinued. There are several similar fabrics still available. If we can be of help to you in the future, let us know.

Fascinating to watch this transformation. I would suggest removing the wall from floor to cill level from below the old living room window opening to create a more open plan and wider feeling space. Obviously this would mean moving the radiator as well but it may help with the flow from living to dining room (difficult to tell if this is definitely the case without floor plans so this is an assumption). It would also make the living room much lighter.

@ensignaccesories no, I meant Dulux Natural Taupe, it's available on different tones. I've seen the taupe you mentioned, but I found it too dark. I've had a change of hearts about the wallpaper after I was told that that one is actually a very old design and Laura Ashley no longer stocks it. Also talking to the lady at LA I realised that trying to force my idea of grey/beige is probably not the best for this particular room, but what I need is something more cheerful and bright, like the green colour I already have in my living room (accessories) . So with this in mind, I headed to John Lewis and took a few samples of green wallpaper. When I stuck them onto the wall next to one I had originally liked, I could see a big difference in the mood of the whole room, it didn't feel as gloomy as with the other grey colours. So, what do you think? Using something like these examples on the front wall? i still need to find what colour to pain the other walls, though. Thanks!

I'm with you! It looks as if the door opens against the wall? If so a wall to wall bookcase isn't going to work. Assuming it's enough storage I might look at the matching dresser to go next to the door, you can obviously display books with a couple of ornaments and hide away any study bits and dinner service. The other pic needs a bit of imagination re the fire (!) but I've seen you like ribbon fires, what about installing one in a slim chimney breast on the left as you walk in? An arc lamp over the dining table may also work for some directional light if working etc. I think you also have room to include a chair next to the window. I would just get a big leather mat for the centre of the table so you don't damage it. You can accessorise with any desk bits but also add flowers or a plant, they don't need to sit central on the table. I would get furniture protectors for the chair feet or look at a rug. I'd mark everything out in paper templates on the floor to check everything fits. It looks a great house btw, love the doors and windows!

The Persian rug is lovely. We have several (sitting room, study, hall, bedroom ..... they're a bit addictive), with fabric using a couple of the colours in each for stuff like cushions, curtains etc. with neutral walls. I agree with minnie about the patterns. To get the right colour combinations, at a reasonable price, you could find a company that does a range with the colour or colours you're looking for and then look for remnants on ebay, to get them at bargain prices. That's worked well for us.
