Kitchen floor dilemma. Tiles or micro cement?

We are having a new kitchen installed (similar to the one in the first photo with wooden base units and white gloss wall units and a dark glass splash back) and need to make a decision on flooring ASAP!
We've dismissed wood as we think it would be tricky to get a suitable contrast with the units so are thinking of micro cement or tiles.
The room is quite small with not much natural light (3m by3m including the units so I think only 4m squared of floor will be seen) so should we go for a light floor?
I've also attached some pictures of tiles I like. Any help very gratefully received, thank you.

8 years agoForgot to attach - some examples of tiles I love. Anything hexagonal, chevron or parquet just not sure if they will be too fussy in this small space?

Comments (4)We've just had the same dilemma, we also have underfloor heating. We've decided to go with grey wood effect porcelain tiles which can be used inside and out. Apart from concrete, porcelain seemed to be the only option we found. I've been told they are very difficult to damage, although obviously not impossible, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Comments (5)I would suggest porcelein wood effect tiles too. They are tough and easy to clean and some are incredibly realistic. They come in every colour from white to deepest mahogany. I always think wooden look floors look so good wth grey or blue units. My stepdaughter has them with UFH and she is very pleased With them. Walls - i actually like white, but you could go pale grey and paint one or two end walls in a bolder colour? Wall tiles are a very personal thing, but how about small geometrics in white? Comments (14)Thanks @izzyjenes been in the house 2 1/2 years and can’t believe we didn’t do it earlier. The whole house (apart from kitchen) is the original floor boards. We decided to carpet a couple of the bedrooms and there was a pile of vinyl ends and we were surprised at the selection. I’m defo going to consider vinyl when we do our kitchen ( no time soon).
