Master Bath

Looking for a good company to renovate our master bathroom! Someone who is reasonably priced. Do I have to go through all of the GCs and pick one or is there a message board...I can post and they will contact me?

You should find a reliable source to use to find a good reliable GC. Going to a message board can bring you all kinds of crazies and trouble. Most trustworthy, worthwhile GC's are not going to be looking on a message board of any kind for work. NARI.org is a good place to start. Good luck with your project!

Thanks ybrough ! I have gone for white ! Will def post the results !!! I've another little dilemma ! Since I'm a perfectionist this has been bothering me !!! We got the shower head fitted in a slightly wrong postion so after movjng it we were left with a hole in the corner of the tile which we got Filled with grouting . It's not obvious I think only I would notice it. It's one of the tiles that's in the shower . Should I leave it alone or chane the tile ??? Problem with changing the tile is that the tiles around it might get chipped in the process ? That's what I've been told . Any thoughts or suggestions would be very appreciated ! Thanks

When I plan, i like to try to visualise exactly what will greet me when i open the door. In this case I chose not to see either the toilet or bidet, and to give the persons using those a little privacy. ( I'm guessing that plumbing requirements dictate that the soil pipe be near to the outside wall with the window on it. ) Therefore, upon opening the door, straight ahead is the double vanity with low (false ) wall behind it ( i made mine 1.2 Metres high ), This gives way to room for possibly a small shelf etc upon which to put soap etc. It also disguises behind it, the toilet and bidet, now not visible from the door. The toilet roll holder will site on the wall on the left next to the toilet. You also have room to hang towels on the wall to the left of the basins. The bath went in the top right corner ( and drains straight through the outside wall ) . Then to the immediate right upon opening the door, a large walk in shower. The towel radiator sits between the shower and the bath and is easily accessible from both. Maybe that would work for you?

That’s a super big dressing room and I think you have room for more than 8m of wardrobes. There will probably be room for a table in the middle too (or an ottoman) In the bedroom here should be room for 3m of drawers with a TV on the wall above. As for the ensuite there is plenty of room for what you want. But there are plenty of ways this can all be laid out. Perhaps you might enlist a designer or concept planner to personalise the design for you and help you to visualise the plan.

How would you place a bath tub in a 1.5m x 6m bathroom?

Hello, Are these measurements correct? That is a very very long bathroom. With 1.5m width, no you wouldn't be able to put a standard bath in as you wouldn't have enough space beside it to get out. However, there are 1500mm and even 1400mm baths that you could use in your design - which would fit in widthways giving you plenty of space for the remainder of the items and getting ready space. Here is a quick plan view of that. Obviously, without a layout package we ask a lot more information which helps us design spaces - this includes where doors and windows are. Through the years we've found that the best way to find reputable people is to start with a materials source and work backwards. In this case I'd start with a local bathroom fixture supplier and ask the store manager to recommend their top three or four remodeling contractors - those who've been in business a long time; great personality; says what they'll do, and does what they've said; pays their bills on time etc. Most store managers will be thoughtful, and helpful because it's a reflection on their store, and generally they know the best people. From there, I'd interview each candidate, see examples of their work, call the last (no cherry-picking clients!) 5 - 10 people they've worked for, and hire chemistry - the best chemistry that works with yours! There's a lot more to it than what this space allows, but that'll get you started.
