I'm not sure if you are the photographer or owner that posted this, can you please tell me about the china cabinet.

i was the owner/photographer and vintage seller. I sold the cabinet before moving to the west coast. I still miss it. It was a c1930s cabinet painted a teal blue, with dentil trim. Not much else that I could find out about it, it was bought from another dealer.

Yes, please. Hiding the ugly necessities of daily living so that they are easily accessible. Without this, the grandest interior scheme goes to pot in the face of children's and the grandparents' needs - especially when they share the same space. AND DISABLED grandparents' needs - and accoutrements!

Tani I really love your cabinet it adds so much warmth to the room with the dark navy and I don't feel it clashes with your floor at all. I like your animal skin rug but perhaps a larger one in Tan and creamy white would help pull the woodwork, metal vase and floor together and give it nice balance. Not sure what colours you like but you could try some velvet or textured oranges with the navy as the tones are similar to the wood and then add some neutral beige or cream with it. Have you tried your mirror above your new cabinet it may help the balance with the TV one the opposite side. I feel a mantle peace will make a difference in white or antique white. Then add a canvas or painting that has all the tones you decide on in your room with some strong accent colours like the orange with the greens and yellows from your other rooms that will tie the two together. What ever you decide on I'm sure you will have fun. Take your time and good luck, most of all have some fun with it.

I inherited my great grandmother's Lloyd loom seats and I love them. My mother gave me them when I had my first student flat 20 years ago when I was at architecture school and I have loved them ever since. My mother had sprayed them gold! But I updated them in farrow and ball's off black. I love the lines and the scale of these chairs and they fit perfectly in our cottage!

Claudia Raperport - Your kitchen looks really nice. Where did you get your floor from? honeypoppet - Very good point about the tiles. We have some green samples coming this week. If we don't love them I think we will play it a bit more safe with white/grey tiles. Man About The House - The DIY & Odd Job Handyman - Those tiles look really nice.
