too old fashioned? do I keep?
Comments (28)I think I have posted on this rug before the rug is lovely thinking you need to sort seating arrangement too many chairs all the same for me and the cushions do nothing to pull everything together. rearrange seats move a couple create a bit more space loose cushions altogether and pick just two colours from rug and work pieces from there like art a couple of good quality cushions only ceramic or glassware less is more here I think. use removed pieces eleswhere in your home or just store till you change colour scheme again they will come in or charity shop if storage a problem enjoy...See MoreToo much glazing?
Comments (2)Given that you have 6m glass doors and roof windows I don’t think you need to be worried about light. If it were me I would have only 4 velux as suggested by OnePlan and I would reconsider the two side windows too as they seem redundant and limit options for placing kitchen cabinets....See MoreF&B Breakfast Room Green in a breakfast room. Too much?
Comments (35)Firstly, Happy New Year fellow Houzzers! Hope 2019 is happy, healthy and generally good for everyone. Want to again pass my thanks to you all for all the responses, advice and inspiration. Without you I don't think we would have got to where we have with the room. As you may have guessed, I am updating the thread because we have finished it (mostly!). The jury is still out on painting the dresser as I don't want 'matchy-matchy' so I am going to live with it for a while as it is. We absolutely love the room and it is beautiful in the morning light. The wallpaper is the Sanderson Chiswick Grove Sage, the paneling and skirting is in F&B Breakfast Room Green eggshell, the ceiling in a pure trade white with the doors and cupboard in F&B James White eggshell. All the woodwork too 4 coats to cover the sanded orange varnish. :( The curtains are the old Ikea things we had up so I need to decide on what to replace them with (they got paint on them so need to go). My lovely sister gave me a really nice brass chandelier so the old light will go too. Also thinking about a jute/sisal rug for under the table, anything patterned would be too much I think. At some point I will replace the black Ikea lamps too. But at the moment they are doing a job. I don't want the lighting to be too old fashioned as the room would go a bit chintzy I think. Hence the lamps on the sideboard looking a bit more modern. Here are some pics if you are interested. :) Cheers all. :)...See MoreWardrobe/Mirror lighting - it’s too dark in here
Comments (0)Hi, I need some help lighting my mirrored wardrobes. When winter sets in, it’s impossible for me to do my make up in my bedroom as we only have a pendant in the middle of the ceiling and it’s not bright enough near my wardrobe. I want some sort of light that sits above my wardrobe which is good enough for make up ie so it doesn’t create shadows. I’ve looked at cabinet lighting for on top of the wardrobe but it’s too “spotlighty” I also would love to light the inside so I can see the contents of my wardrobe much more easily. I’ve looked at led strips but not really sure they would be useful. Any help or suggestions would be welcomed....See MoreLaura Wheat
