Need help with living room design
Comments (19)I would suggest that it's impossible to give professional advice that can be relied upon without full measurements and details. For this reason, I'd suggest you contact a professional in your area (Houzz has a great pro directory) and let them know your needs. Perhaps sit with them and discuss at length your seating requirements, lifestyle, functional uses for the space, and have them work out a floor plan for you with measurements that you can use to shop yourself. This is usually an inexpensive service and will yield much more usable results than posing the question on Houzz discussions thread. For instance, have you thought about whether or not you want a desk in the space for doing bills or using your laptop more conveniently? Have you thought about whether there might be use for a game table, or one where your kids (if you have them...) could do homework or eat snacks, or what you can use as a buffet during large parties. When you complete a renovation like this, you have to determine how the space will now be used and incorporated into your life. Without doing this you will likely buy the wrong type of furniture for your needs. A designer should and would discuss all these details with you, look around the rest of your house, make suggestions, and give you an accurate, professional floor plan to work from. I hope that this advice if helpful to you and wish you the best....See MoreNeed help with living room interior.
Comments (2)Your new furniture looks lovely. A vibrant blue would work well with the white and wood furniture and also your sofa. You could think about a feature wall, (behind your sofa maybe) and some new curtains that pick out the chosen colour. Keep the rest of the scheme neutral, some black and white prints on the wall would add a hint of cool and also bring in the grey sofa cushions. Good luck!...See MoreNeed help with living room
Comments (3)Deep reds look lovely in old cottages. Get a couple of testers, paint A4 Sheets of paper so that you can move them around easily and avoid painting patches on the wall in dark colours that are harder to paint over. Go for it. You can also take one of the cushions from the couch to B&Q where the colour matching service for Valspar paint is really spot on. They can scan the red in the cushion and get a match for you that way, then you'll know it will work....See MoreNeed help with living room lighting arrangement
Comments (1)Hi N K hope the move is going well and you are enjoying the new home. what you can do to combat this issue of off-centering is use a simple hook and grip to loop the cable over from the outlet so that you get a centre hang. Please see image below. There isnt an exact science to hanging heights as everyone is different, but you should try offering it up and seeing what works best for you so that you do not have to keep changing it for watching the tv. hope this helps...See Moresusan2494
