Redecorating bedroom with fitted wardrobes - help!
Comments (10)We're all for a bit of hard work, and would definitely paint the cupboards. You are right not to use F&B, it's an inferior paint compared to dulux, and not correct for your purposes, being Eggshell finish. Dulux Trade Satinwood is far better, gives a better finish and is hardwearing. ( It's also more expensive than F&B i'm afraid, but you get what you pay for ). I'd paint the cupboards in a pale grey and replace the knobs. Give the area behind the bed a good dark grey finish, to help with making your choice of headboard really stand out. A quick rough paint idea using Dulux Night Jewels 2 and 6...See MoreFitted Bedroom Wardrobe and Convertible Furniture
Comments (6)Hi Lauren, we're too far away to be of too much help, but the product range we offer most office is theCrown Living / Lifespace range. They have a huge range of door colours/styles (Over 120 at last count!) in matts, gloss, sparkes, painted woods/woodgrains, metalics etc. and a very flexible system. We recently came up against Sharps, and our quote for a similar configuration/style was around half the price of Sharps. If you pick carefully your styles and mix of units, it can be very good value. You could find your local dealer at this link. Alternatively if you struggle to track down a dealer, we could quote for supply only and have delivered direct to you if you have your own fitter lined up, though obviously we are too far away to offer our usual levels of service....See MoreNeed help with a bedroom and walk through wardrobe
Comments (3)Rather than treating the 3 rooms as separate entities think as them as your private space as one. The entrance to the "wardrobe" is too geometric. Consider a wall decal (see image to break the rectangle. You have muted colours throughout. Rather than painting consider (room permitting) a mirror that makes a statement for dressing and make-up/hair etc. Maybe introduce a small console table in front of mirror to store your "essentials" (again space permitting). Then use the opposite wall area to hang clothes on rails and in sea-grass baskets store you other items. Think about introducing mood LED system with lighting that changes colour or remains static related to your mood! In the good old days lighting was done with ultra violet and infra red as they were considered ideal for healthy complexions (but we know what has happened since). Maybe coming from left field but food for thought hopefully Best wishes Celia x...See More1920s Bedroom Wardrobe Advice - Alcove and Chimney Breast
Comments (9)As others have said, it is a personal decision. There are lots of photos of fireplaces ‘recessed’ between alcoves, and it can look very smart, especially with a big mirror. (I found this one on Houzz.) For me, I’d find a big wall of wardrobes would be too much homogeneous-wardrobe-door and I’d go for the fireplace every time. However, be aware that fitting a decorative fireplace can be a hassle if the hole was bricked up rather than boarded over. You’d also need to source a fireplace you like that suits the period of the house, which is harder for 1920s houses than Edwardian or Victorian ones. … but you’ll gain a real feature and add so much character so definitely do it if you feel drawn to it!...See Morenewton81
