Fed up of my glass splashback

We had our kitchen done 8 years ago and whilst I still love the kitchen itself, I have grown out of love with the lime green glass splashback. It cost us a fortune when we bought it and I can't afford to rip it out. I'm currently considering covering it with washable wallpaper. First question does anyone have experience of washable wallpaper and how suitable it would be in as a kitchen splashback. And second question, can I paper over glass?

the other idea I have, is to try and spray the glass to create an antique mirror effect. Again, do folks have experience of trying this with any success, and would it stand up to cleaning and cooking splashes?

thanks for any thoughts....

jodene.
