How can I find these tiles ?!

Hi, I've seen some tiles (pictured) but I have no idea who makes them or sticks them! Can someone please help! They are small mosaic of dark blue & white in the wicker weave pattern.

Tracey, those are encaustics which tend to be 18-20mm in depth, your wood will most likely be engineered ply if you have underfloor heating and depths vary 12mm upward. If one or the other substrate needs to be built up to accommodate the other that is possible. Be aware there will be some movement between the two, more so if you are using long boards, less with parquet, so consider how best to deal with any movement or expansion between the two. There are plenty of products available for this. Make sure your encaustics are sealed correctly. You could also find the cleaning regimen of the two finishes may be very different. Lithoflin for encaustics - and oil/wax for an oiled floor, that's not a great combination, so perhaps an easy maintenance wood might be better in the long run.

Oh how annoying! I'd be pretty hacked off with that I think. If the tiler has used the edging I'm thinking of (like mine pictured but in metal rather than white plastic like mine) it won't be possible to remove because the tile sits on top of the lip underneath. Can you get hold of a small length of the edging and try a bit of experimenting with paint etc? It maybe that the edging looks like shiny chrome but is actually just a thin veneer of chrome effect plastic, if this was lightly sanded you might be able to create a better surface for paint to cling to and then choose a really matt charcoal or dark taupe type colour?

I'm not convinced that wood would be a stable surface to tile on anyway, it really ought to be on MDF or cement board, the grout may crack with movement. I would check this out first before committing. In terms of edges, a metal edge could look good or thin strips of timber. I used to make mosaic tables and used thick metal edging on the edges, quite a faff but it finished it nicely.
