Help with pendant light choice for over island
Comments (4)I've recently purchased another Firstlight rise and fall pendant in brushed nickel. This is to go with the metallic fittings in the kitchen ie sockets and cupboard handles. This is in addition to the original antique brass pendant in the adjacent dining area. They are an excellent centrepiece for the price but personally I don't think they would work in groups. Also available in white. Sorry I can't provide a picture....See MoreCeiling lights over the Island
Comments (34)Hi, I'd Base the decision on whether you have underfloor heating and also based on the look you are trying to achieve. If you have UFH, I'd go for large format porcelain tiles, which are easier to clean and maintain with minimal grout lines. Personally, I like wood effect as it warms up the whites and greys but you could go for a stone effect or marble....as your kitchen is neutral, you could pair anything. If you don't have underfloor heating, I find tiles to be very cold under the foot and would rather opt for Luxury Vinyl Tiles such as Amtico or Karndean. They are warmer to the touch, durable and doesn't uplift/expand when in contact with water, if laid properly and you can still get them in wood effect, stone effect, etc. It is quite pricey when compared to laminates or ceramic tiles but it's tough and durable....See MorePlease help me choose lights for my
Comments (11)I think three would look more aesthetically pleasing. How about copper? It is very popular at the moment, but still has that lovely country look which would look fab in your kitchen. I also like the enamel look rather like your example, but white would be a little too safe? Any colour would look good as your kitchen is nice and neutral. For something a bit difference Laura Ashley do a double light fitting with a horizontal rod with two lights hanging from it. I’d send you a pic but don’t know how to! It’s quite pricey, but my friend bought a similar one in chrome for £30 from Ikea!...See MoreHELP!! what do I do with my island pendants??
Comments (24)Awww thanks Ellie, I was gutted for you to read about your flooring issues! Yea, the guys have really kept things moving forward. Downstairs Should be painted over the next week, then flooring goes down 18-20th..then they can fit the pocket doors into the frames, then they need to be painted! Then we can get all our furniture back! But next exam is the 3rd :-0 so Proper unpacking will be mostly after that! Need to order new wardrobes and a new bed! Can’t believe how much has happened! In the last few months! Back wall - plan is to get a wooden shelf (probably an upcycled scaffolding board one) for all my many recipe books, which will add some life and colour! And a magnetic strip for some knives :-)...See MoreTiago Faria and Jane Considine Architects
