Absolutely not !! We have a total ban on mobile phones around our dinner table when we are eating, and only when we're finished and I say that we can 'get down' do the kids then run into the sitting room and see if they've missed anything in the 20 minutes that they've not had some device stuck to their faces. Same goes for the TV as well. We do have the radio on, but in today's busy lifestyle it's the very few times that we can actually all sit down together and talk about what's been going on.

All of them are beautiful, and final choice would really depend on the interior style and look you would like to achieve. But to choose for now it will be Dark - Blackbone reclaimed oak table.

If it ends up feeling too small for benches either side (rather depends on people's leg lengths I suspect), you'll still have space for two of you to eat at a proper table. Even discounting the benefit you'd have every day by having somewhere you like to it, it might add value to the house as a work-from-home nook for a future owner.

Wider tables are great. My table. is 120 wide, it fills the room nicely and more importantly there is room in the middle for serving plates. You only feel like you are further apart because you are not used to it because generally restaurant tables are small in order to fit more in
