Yellow paint

Hi does anyone know of a beautiful yellow paint that I could use in my large hallway and landing. The hallway has terracotta tiles. I don't want a citrusy yellow or orangey yellow more of a happy creamy yellow that will work well with Wimborne a White woodwork. Thank you ?..

Hi Jscott001 Farrow's Cream or Dorset Cream sound like the Farrow and Ball colours you're after. I'd recommend trying tester pots of these two colour in the room to decide between them. Hope that helps, PB

Funnily enough I was looking at Farrows Cream, as you say will buy a tester pot..the other colour was Cavendish Cream by Mylands paint...

I would go for greys and whites to give it a spacious feel. If light is an issue try elephants breath by F&B as it will warm the area. Remove all the paper and paint walls. I personally think the dado would look good in white and will match your doors. Panelling under the dado could also look good and wouldn't date. You could try a diy version as shown in pic as panelling is dear. The laminate in the hall looks good so would keep this and personally would go for a neutral colour on the stairs or even try a stripe. you could try blinds instead of curtains. I would also add a couple of big statement lights on the hall and landing. If you really want some wallpaper, then add a feature wall where the console table is or even at the top of the stairs to draw your eye upwards.

Sorry, bit of a long thread but thought it’d still be clearer than starting a new one. I’ve touched on this subject before but want to present it to you again: Do you think painting these doors, of bathroom and separate toilet, in F&B’s Off Black would work? Also, would I need to paint the insides of the doors too?

Our north facing wall is a dark moss, combines really well with the pine floors, desk (cabinets are white, top is pine) and offwhite trim. No warm colour, but very soothing, cozy and calm. Personally I like yellow for hallways, not bedrooms. But a (burnt) orange accent wall would work (and a greige or offwhite on the other walls) really well with black and white artwork.

Thanks both. I know rooms can be different colours (as mine are!) but the point I was trying to make is that the bathroom is directly off of her room and so in some ways it appears to be the same room. I would like there to be a natural flow so it feels like it is the same room, if that makes sense! But then again I suppose people have their ensuites completely different colours to their bedrooms don't they?

The colours are available in different paint types. Some paint types are more suited to different applications and requirements.
