Glass ideas for internal oak doors?
Comments (23)Hello. Those doors are beautiful and do not need glass that will block your view and compete for attention. My suggestion is to have clear glass. If you can find old style antiqued glass, or handmade glass that would be my vote. Otherwise just use plain glass. The key is the view through the doors (both ways). The doors will function as a frame so arrange furniture accordingly. I suggest new long curtains that hang closer to the ceiling. A beautiful neutral linen, or something that excites you. If you hang a vibrant or patterned curtain then your black sofa (is it a chair?) will not dominate the view through the doors. If you elect for a neutral curtain, then you may want to relocate the black sofa in favour of a more neutral piece. Beautiful home, what we can see of it. Good luck!...See MoreNew doors

Comments (11)It wasn't yellow, more a light reddish brown, I didn't look at the Howdens door because I wanted the full vertical panels. The deanta door isn't finished so you can add a suitable oil. I just felt I couldn't get close to the ash wood used elsewhere in the house. There's also a similar door by LPD called Wexford https://www.lpddoors.co.uk/oak-wexford/ If you want a paintable door with the same full vertical lines Leader doors have one https://www.leaderdoors.co.uk/doors-c14/internal-doors-c111/internal-fire-doors-c121/internal-white-primed-cottage-fd30-fire-door-libwmcotfd-p54157 I got quite obsessed with doors! Here's what I ended up with they do have the bars on the back which I wanted to avoid at first but now I really like the contemporary /cottage juxtapose!...See Morehow should we finish off our new entrance?
Comments (17)After carrying out all that work and the expenditure I would not bother adding more to the workload by adding a porch. You have a modern fronted dwelling so IMO there’s no need to clutter the front by adding a porch especially one with Oak beams as it’s not in keeping with the existing house. That is more suitable to period properties which yours is not. You do need some steps for ease of entering the front door and I would make this a feature perhaps by having a large semi circle double height step if it allows. Perhaps add the step in a blue brick which would tone in nicely with the front door....See MoreHINSON Custom Made Timber Products
