Paint kitchen cabinets

We want to paint our kitchen cabinets which are a PVC synthetic material. We would like to go to a Farrow & Ball Downpipe colour (very dark grey). But are obviously nervous about doing this....

I've been told to
- clean the surface with warm soapy water and white spirit
- put a Zinsser B-I-N Primer on first
- 1 coat of an interior wood coat in dark tones (F&B)
- 2 coats of chosen colour (Downpipe F&B in Eggshell finish)

Are there any seasoned painters/decorators/DIY lovers out there's hat can advise us? Is this something you would do or completely avoid?

Any other tips or ways this should be done?

You can see current kitchen cabinets in photo which are from Benchmarx and are in Sherwood Grey
