Scandi style landing needs warmth and homely feel
Comments (15)Funnily enough, we have been thinking about making the landing into a reading area with low book shelves when we conceptualized our little extension slightly over a year ago. As we had imagined, the area is flooded with light for most hours of the day. I had therefore originally intended to focus on getting some suggestions for the white wall but thought the better of it and threw the question wider so that we may get a schematic idea for the area rather than something too specific which might not gel together. So thanks everyone for your great suggestions. Any thoughts about canvas/photograph(s) arrangement on the white wall would be greatly appreciated. p.s. love the handcrafted colour cubes at the Lines of Pinner but they will have to go with the rest of the colour scheme should we decide to go down that route....See MoreHelp on living room lay out and colour scheme
Comments (7)Hi Angela, I think I would look at a modern grey and white look. Maybe with a darker green used in a few accessories and plants which will soften the design look (important with hard floors). If you don't have furniture then maybe consider a single room redesign interior design service. Everything is then taken into account to ensure lighting, colours, furniture and space planning as well as styling. I hope that helps. Thanks, Gina...See MoreNeed help with paint colours for living room
Comments (20)Ha, funnily enough I tried some colours out on your walls in photoshop yesterday, which doesn't mean a thing, since it always looks different on screen, and I too thought that Ammonite worked well. Still, do try it out. Painted the skirting All White. Threw in some pattern with cushions, a framed poster will reflect light and is more interesting than a mirror (which loads of people use) and I thought that you could perhaps place a different cabinet for the TV along the wall next to the fireplace....See Morecolour scheme help for open plan kitchen/living area
Comments (3)It's an awkward one as a lot of the kitchen is in the dining area, and the space that you don't want to have a table & chairs is opposite the sink. You could put one of the armchairs there. Keep the sofa where one is at the moment. You could go for a darker cognac leather or dark grey. Grey tones go with the brick. A nice bright rug would look good, but I'd keep the walls light and airy as they are now. In order to place something like this arrangement, you will have an armchair near to the sink. Although the kitchen is lovely...........If you ever have the budget, i'd consider moving the kitchen around. Change the island possibly for a smaller one and turn the side run of units along the left hand wall to across the room for 'U' Shape, giving you a much better sofa / lounge area....See MoreAnna Siodelska
