Help for window treatment
Comments (13)FAB window. How about a hinged rod, or a room width rail. The 1st will open and sit against a wall, to be closed when needed, or one at each side. The curtains would be floor to ceiling and look gorgeous whether open or shut. A room width rail at ceiling height could sit the curtain to the left of the window when open, perhaps with a luxurious tie back and the curtain, when pulled over, would cover the entire wall as before. I DARE you to go for WHITE linen or, better still, WHITE velvet. Stunning! Bee...See MoreHelp! Best colours for paint, carpet and window treatments for RENTAL
Comments (16)I have to agree with Crafty Countess about having a vinyl flooring. I would recommend Loose Lay by Karndean. The range comes in wood plank and stone tile effects, does not have to be glued down except around the edges of the room and damaged "tiles" can be easily replaced. They are made for commercial use, so are very durable and will retain their looks for years to come. From our own tenants, I've found that white or off- white works best. You'll never get a colour right for a tenant. In the past, we've hung curtains, which our tenants always ask to take down and put up their own. We've painted lightly fresh or richly cozy feature walls, which our tenants have asked to paint over. So we always use a neutral paint now. We allow our tenants to hang pictures, providing they repair and paint the holes when they move out and use wall stickups that they can take with them. The less colour you put in, the more you allow your tenants to make the space their own....See MoreWindow treatment for two recessed window in same room different width
Comments (9)Hi, Sandra, In my opinion this would depend on how dark you need the room to be; if you need it dark for sleeping then I would suggest using a blind(roman or roller) inside the recess, and then having a more sheer curtain on a track going across the top of the entire wall -- you could use a pair of curtains for each window; if they are lightweight it wouldn't affect the radiator in the middle if you wanted to pull them back. The sheerish curtains would work with the overall feel of the room. Alternatively you could still have the blinds in the recess and the single track, with more tailored curtains -- one for each window, so when they are pulled back (with a holdback) there would be one on the left of the left hand window, and one on the right of the right hand window. Treating them as one window, in effect...See MoreWindow treatment for living room
Comments (2)I’ve used Fashion Interiors for fabric. They are in Coventry but sell online too. They also make up curtains although I’ve only ever used that service. I ordered some Scion fabric from them and it all came on rolls and in perfect condition and I then had a local blind company make them up for me....See MoreLisa Starkebaum
