I love my kitchen. Like kitchens to not only be clean but to look clean, hence mine is predominantly white; walls, ceiling, floor and gloss white cupboard doors. However the worktops are thick slabs of oiled oak and the cupboards are wrapped in the same oak to add a touch of warmth. I have also added a battered old rustic oak table which is in complete contrast to all the sleekness - its me and I love it.

I've braved white! I love it because it's so versatile allowing me to change things up whenever I fancy it. The key is to have a second set of slipcovers. I wish more companies did slipcovered sofas, pet owners like me appreciate being able to keep funky smells at bay. I would imagine parents of teenagers would too! ;)

My favorite color is always changing. For now is it creamy white because I can put all my favorite colors with it and make each room have a mood of it's own. Pink is running a close second, though. Asking what is my favorite color reminds me of something my daughter once told me, "Mama, to have one favorite color is not fair to all the other colors in the box." I agree. :-)

My husband trusts me and prefers I make all those decisions. That said I always ask his opinion on large pieces. If I left it all to him he would lose interest before finishing! Design is so not his thing. But then I'm not interested in documentaries on outer space or Lego.... Best we stick to our own interests I think! ;)

I love my tree decorated in red white & silver I've collected over the years absolutely loads of very traditional ornaments, Even though we've updated our living room the tree will never change its a real talking point when family or friends visit the tree stand's at 8ft tall & I'm so Proud! of it.

I have ticked 'grey' although I have kitchen units in three different colours in my fairly new kitchen-diner - lamp-room grey with an oak worktop housing a double Belfast sink, graphite grey with a pale granite worktop on the peninsular unit and alabaster (rich creamy colour) with the same oak worktop opposite the peninsular unit and for the doors of the walk-in larder and utility cupboard (no space for a utility room!) and the oven housing. The oak worktops have been treated with four coats of Osmo Polyx-oil, which I think is a fantastic product and has protected the worktops perfectly. The flooring is mock limestone laminate and I'm delighted with how the whole room looks.

Sounds fabulous - Ive seen the look and absolutely love it. I did consider greys myself but the layout of my kitchen doesn't lend itself to mixing the colour of the unit doors but Ive painted the traditional 1930s doors in the room in soft grey and it does look good. I'll try the Osmo Polyx-oil thanks for the recommendation. Cheers JH

Cream units, walls and tiled flooring. Wooden worktops. Steel hob and roll unit. Lots of windows and light. I love it.
It just feels calm and warm.
Predominantly dark kitchens just make me feel gloomy with grey being top of that list. Always reminds me of a cloudy day.

Mine is centred around a Mondrian themed wine rack, so it's a mix of (predominantly) green & white, but also red, yellow, blue and black. Mismatched knobs also add more colour and interest - IMO!

Just in the throes of changing from solid american black cherry [lovely quality but sooooo dated] to a mix of high gloss cream and high gloss aubergine. I love my kitchen again...

Grey is very popular for units at the moment. We are working on a design where we have coupled charcoal grey base units with walnut and wenge woods and opted for the classic white wall.
