Comments (4)I agree with Mayfly182, although maybe a little harsh. I'd approach an Architect in the first instance and they will be able to advise on the structure of the building required as a whole, it won't just be the roof that they will concentrate on. It will entirely depend on many, many factors, not least of which, would probably be underpinning of the existing structure and of course drainage. It's not just an extension, the underpinning is what adds thousand to the project. ( as in literally doubles it ) I don't know what your budget is, however, it would be much, much cheaper to extend at current ground level to the left or right of the existing building. Have you explored that as an option?...See MoreType and colour of paving for this patio?
Comments (8)Celine there are loads of porcelain finishes from the palest of white to wood effect and dark grey. I would avoid white as it could show the dirt a bit too much! Here’s some more images of porcelain. I don’t know what the paving is in your pics but possibly porcelain?...See Morewhich type of patio stone?
Comments (8)Im no expert but I do have both Indian Sandstone in one area of the garden and porcelain near the house. Porcelain is more non slip but it can get grubby due to the non slip finish, but it comes up lovely when jet washed. The sandstone has a more country look so lovely in a cottage garden. It can also be bought in a sawn finish which is smoother and has a more modern finish. I would recommend you get whatever you choose jet washed regularly as both can get grubby over the years. Nothing is maintenance free I’m afraid! If you like a modern look try the porcelain as it does come in many colours including slate grey....See MoreVictoria
