What to do about the table...?

I have this nearly new but yet well loved dining room table that has always frustrated me... My 4 sons have put so much wear and tear on it that I don't think I could sell it for anything substantial (I'd really appreciate the extra finances to build a breakfast nook!). My question is... Should I try to paint it to increase the potential price? If I paint it, what should I do about the granite lazy Susan in the center? Can granite be painted? The granite developed "water rings" and heat marks right after we got it, probably because it wasn't sealed properly from the manufacture. I've never been able to get the marks out and it's always bugged me. What colours should I paint it? I was thinking of reupholstering the seat covers too, any suggestions there?

I should add... Since I'd like to paint it to sell immediately, I'm mainly interested in what's trendy, current, and popular, my opinion is almost irrelevant. And the myriad of reasons why I don't like the table can't be changed (it's too large for the space, it's "grooves" collect gunk for my kids to pick at and messes up their craft projects etc)

Never really a good idea to have only one way in and out of down stairs area, What would look good and stop the hallway resemble a tunnel, would be to block the existing entrance to the dining area, then just off centre (nearer to the main entrance), create an opening wide enough (approx 4.5ft) for small double glass doors (crittle would look lovely) also put the same style door to the kitchen area, this way will be easier and safer when cooking and preparing family meals, also when people come to visit, they won't have to walk through the kitchen to sit in the lounge, or walk back through the kitchen to use the loo good luck

Also had similar issues. To my mind anthracite or black windows can look good IF they are done well - they look good when they are good quality windows with modern flat profiles, fitted to a house which has had proper architectural consideration. The problem now is that all the cheaper upvc double glazing companies are doing them with thick frames and chamfered profiles, and they can look clunky and old fashioned rather than sleek and considered. Our sliding doors only came in 4 colour choices, so in the end we have gone for RAL7021 (a soft black) for those - on the modern rear extension - with RAL7006 (beige grey) aluminium composite windows elsewhere on our 1930s house. The sliding doors are in and the 7021 does look really good, almost invisible as the frames are very slim, and I think it works because it's the very modern extension. The windows aren't in yet so I can't comment on how it's all going to work together. I am keeping my fingers crossed...! Our windows will be Velfac which are alu outside, painted timber inside and you can choose different colours for interior/exterior. They weren't as expensive as I thought they were going to be, so it's worth getting a quote for aluminium composite windows before you decide.

We have one, although the shelves aren’t up to locate it yet. We also have one of the floating lamps and a plain Matt black globe that spins on an axis. We have things for a display. I might get a small orrery :)

I don't like Chevron flooring, it messes with my eyes and I find it too distracting. If this was in long wide planks the colour wouldn't bother me so much as it would fit a more scandi vibe. But really I'd prefer natural oiled oak if that's the vibe you are going for. I think this particular photo makes it look worse than it is as it doesn't go at all with the rest of the room shown. It's a very traditional room and the pale floor and the Chevron pattern look really bad in it.

I agree, I'd sell it as it is. I don't think painting it well enough to sell will increase the value anywhere close to the amount of time and materials you'd have to put into it. Good luck!
