Is that Caesar stone? If not, what material and name of style please...

This is a type of Carrara Marble called 'Calacatta Cremo Cross Cut' that I have not seen before. Its very soft and prone to etching. Cumar in Everett Ma has it in stock and did the fabrication and installation.

Hi there If you are on a budget then I would check out this product Xylocleaf its new and very much on trend with designers at the moment. We are a kitchen company in London and we use this on our furniture like kitchens and wardrobes. I like the Rovere its like grey wood, I have a desk made of this but I can imagine this with a handleless design, white work tops with down stands to the floor and walls in Lead 1 by paper and paint library. Just an idea.

Hi Gina This is almost definitely sandstone. Yorkshire sandstone is quite yellowy beige so could well be from a local quarry. There are dozens in Yorkshire. Are you looking to reproduce it or just for the history. Do your deeds have the architects name or builder's name. It looks in keeping with the original build. There are Arts and Crafts houses by designers such as Edgar Wood around West Yorks with similar looks. Banney Royd in Huddersfield is a good example. Open to public now I think.

Putting white or light grey on a kitchen floor is asking for martyrdom - fine if you're what Freud called a housewife psychotic; but if mopping your floor three times a day isn't your thing, go for a darker floor and get your reflected light from the vertical surfaces of the island. I would also be wary of white next to cream - call me old-fashioned, but it's one of the few combinations that simply jars. Have you considered having a bold and bright colour for the island as a counterpoint to all that tastefully restrained grey, black and cream?
