Industrial looking kitchen

Hi I'm thinking of giving my kitchen/ diner/ living area an industrial look with reclaimed looking brick tiles on the back wall where the mirror currently is & Edison type industrial looking pendants. White shiny brick tiles under the units and this table. Will it all go with the colour of the units as I'm not going to buy new units as its a newish kitchen just needs some life to it.

There are parts of your current kitchen that are very contemporary but if balanced well you can make it work.

Try starting with changing the handles of the unit to give the actual kitchen a more industrial look and to tie it with the legs of the new table. I have attached some images ...you can get inspiration from looking at existing industrial furniture.

The brick wall will be the main element in this space so try adding some lighting to this to really show it off. It would be good to see how that works with the flooring in the space. I recently did Grand Design's live and had a textured mural brick wall with a contemporary/industrial dining room.. it really can be a stunning combination.

Hi Ribena, You make a good point. However in this case the worktop is Dekton and on three of the four kitchen walls as you will see. This means hot pans or trays can be put straight onto this work surface, to the left or right of the ovens, and also behind you. The home owner absolutely loves to cook and use the kitchen to the fullest now. in the clients own word they say the kitchen is now has a... " innovative use of space, which gave us more practical storage space than the rows of units we had hitherto, plus modern appliances and gadgets galore and a lot of central, uncluttered floor space. The end product was the touch of a genius and to our mind delivered the WOW factor we were looking for. " The door finishes are Resopal Matt white and Direct Lacquer steel gloss from Ballerina. I don't think the style is complicated TBH. If you wanted to simplify the colour you could do the island in the same,colour which tends to work better with relatively narrow rooms. In terms of balance are you referring to the warmth of the colour scheme on one side with brick and wood? If so, you could pick a warm encaustic tile splashback or you could do the banquette in the kitchen colour and just add some warmth for accessories? Or were you referring to proportions? If so I think the shelves add balances to your plan and you could go a bit bigger (or more) wall lights over the table?

Hi Emma

I agree with the comment above to change the handles on the current units. You could also distress the units with chalk paint or dark wax - really easy and gives amazing effects. I would rather go for a grey concrete looking wall (like on your pictures) to complement your white tiles but maybe it is because I just love concrete.
