We currently live with only a single sink and it is terrible! When we renovate the kitchen there will definitely be a double sink (either a 1.5-1.75). So handy for when u are washing up, but need to tip something down the sink (eg. You have had something soaking, but forget to empty it before filling the sink to wash in)

Presumably by "granite sink" you mean the man made Silgranite type in an inset style which can be used with work tops that are not solid, ir laminate? as opposed to an under mounted bowl that can only be used with solid surfaces as the cut edge is showing... in that case I would go for the Brown as opposed to cream, I think it would look more seamless and classy, also more practical, I know the light colours are not meant to stain but that would be my concern! If you do go for more expensive solid work surfaces then I would take advantage of that and have an undermiunt, and I think these may also be available in Silgranite material and have drainage grooves routered in but with a recessed surround as this prevents water going the wrong way.

I have a ceramic sink (not butler shaped) and I’ve never dropped anything in it, but the trick is to use a washing up bowl. Hate the damned things so it’s chucked in the pantry when not in use! Really easy to clean too.

I can only comment on Corian as my friend has had worktops and sink in it. She doesn’t like it all as it gets easily watermarked, even when the water is wiped immediately and it scratches easily. The scratch marks can be sanded, but this has to be done by a professional - difficult to find someone! I have a ceramic sink which I love - it’s easy to clean, and no I’ve never broken any crockery in it! Ceramic does have a more country vibe though.
