Help for my kitchen diner
Comments (5)I think it may separate the room if you change the flooding ?! Could you buy some reclaimed flooding to finish the room in the kitchen end too ?! Will be a much more cohesive look that way, in my opinion ! If you incorporate a wall area at the kitchen end of your new glazed wall - that might work well for the FF placement . What sort of window covering are you intending to have - as if curtained - you will need to allow space for curtains to go too (so as not to block out light ) Allowing 1m walkways would give you an island of 2.6m - so probably will need to be double depth to allow 6 seated ? But will you really need 6 at island if you have the table so close ? Remember, it's now in the same room, so more convenient for use than it was before ?! There may be other options to explore rather than just this one layout - time spent with an experienced kitchen designer may offer different things you'd not thought of previously ... Comments (10)Thank you for your reply. perhaps your photographer isn't the best at composing and displaying the quality woodwork. Got to say if I had a solid wall of cupboards like that, i would have to break them up with useful mirrors. the handles for the nice bathroom space look far too overt and noticeable for me, but maybe the client chose them....See MoreI'm painting my kitchen and need some help!
Comments (10)Hi. I like your kitchen as it is however after 6 years maybe it is time for a change! Your idea of painting just the wall units would work, I'd keep them in the wall colour, not sure if you're changing that or not? I think the worktop is fine, it's reflecting light (and everything else!)! Another option is to keep the island in wood (also means avoiding painting wine rack). If you went for cup handles for example I think you could have 2 on each island drawer without leaving any holes. I'm not sure on the cooks blue with the black tops but the pitch blue may work although I don't expect it will alter the light situation. Have you also looked at little Greene paint? I rave over the quality and it wipes down very easily whereas I personally find f&b and dulux trade doesn't. In theory I would use satinwood on the beams although I have used emulsion on a couple of things that don't take any knocks to get a chalky feel and they're absolutely fine....See MoreKitchen Island...
Comments (1)The bench appears to be at the height normally used for tables - not at breakfast bar height. So would be too low for use at this breakfast bar....See Moresnow_momma
