Hi Vanessa, The idea using the space for an outdoor seating is a greta one, but rather than plants in pots, which can be very high maintenance, why not build some raised beds, so that you can have planting around the seating area. This would make the area feel more cosy and defined within the overall garden. A fire pit in the middle would work really well, but this could simply be a square or circular area with some a trim of fire bricks and a base of sand or hardcore which you could light your fire on top of. Sometimes simple fire pits are the best! Good luck look forward to hearing what you do.

I would have to say a hanging willow pod.. it adds an element of play yet at the same time a place within which to relax. It can be nestled in anywhere as it isn't dependant on the surface of the ground and built to fit as few or as many people as you'd like. I think rather than fixing any seating - keep it flexible - as despite being a floating home - it looks to me to me moored in one fixed location ? So if you keep the seating flexible you can follow the sun (or shade ) ... 2x three seater or four seater sofas could potentially double up as two sun loungers - might be worth looking at... are you thinking of an outdoor kitchen up there too ?

Lovely garden. I had a little garden a while back that had white painted walls and lightish grey painted fence with natural decking. The grey made the fence recess and the garden feel bigger and the white reflected light and made it feel bigger too. The planting looked amazing against both because the greens really pop against the homogenised background. So I think you should paint it too, but personally I'd find a complementary grey. Cream and grey are great together.
