Comments (44)HiTino Felly, Marie Here. Your off to a great start - but you've made a common mistake in that you've found your inspiration for your colour palette, but your not committing to it. You need to bring the greens and blues up onto the walls and onto the floor - commit to it. You could: - add a great throw rug underneath the bed, - add big table lamp beside the bed - or better yet, a wall sconce, - drapery isn't really the best choice for this bedding - I would have brought in a bold graphic print here, in either the blue or the green - artwork can stay neutral - even do a collection of mixed metals in chrome, gold, and have fun with that - if you add too much in the blue and green it becomes boring and un-special. Choose your accessories carefully, I'd change out your drapery - go with something bolder, I'd also get a larger night stand so you could put a proper table lamp there. Good Luck!...See MoreMaster Bedroom - I do not know where to start?!
Comments (12)Hi Claire. How much wardrobe space do you actually need? If you built in front of the ensuite with a faux door that would give you c7ft. I've found a pic showing what that would look like with the corridor. You could always add an extra freestanding wardrobe in the nursery or alternatively have wardrobes opposite the bed and obviously stop them c4ft short of the window. I think the bed could go on either long wall TBH and assuming you want a dressing table then have that opposite with a chair in the corner. I love shagreen ATM so would have a shagreen feature wall, this is by Osborne and little (2nd pic) and also comes in grey shades but there are a number around. Colour scheme I'd go for grey, mustard and linen shades with some black and brass for accessories. The dressing table (console) is by Shropshire design and I'd add a cube footstool to this. I think a wood floor looks good for a boudoir look, these 2 are vinyl planks by amtico and the dark colour would look great against brass. Lampshade is by Oka and chair by rowan and wren. Perhaps just pile up some pillows on the bed and add mustard velvet cushions with a draped faux fur throw. I'd add black framed art behind the bedside lamps and a tall potted plant by the doors would also look good. I'd probably just go for Roman blinds for the door and windows, you may be able to squeeze dress curtains with hold backs in too but looks as if they would slightly cover the radiators?...See MoreHow do I lay out this master bedroom?
Comments (22)Victoria - for some reason it seems wrong to have the back of the sofa smack in the center of the main window - but not so weird the front! I would need a surveyor to work out whether those walls are load bearing - but that could be a possibility. I did consider whether something like that could work....See MoreWhat do you think of the plans for master bedroom?
Comments (12)I much prefer Jonathan’s plan tbh. You would have a lovely spacious ensuite with natural light and it allows for storage under the vanity. Jonathan’s plan has also given more wardrobe space. I also think the view from the bedroom end of your plan of the wardrobes and corridor may look slightly odd in reality. My ensuite is longer than yours but just 1m wide and it doesn’t give a lot of space for storage or getting ready. You may also struggle for towel rail placement. I also find in reality soft seating in a bedroom is just used for dumping clothes (my husband obviously!). I think J’s plan would probably allow for a bed end stool though if you wanted something. It’s what works for you though. If you have the time/budget you could use a concept planner to mock up various options in 3D...See MoreBrian Scott
