With expensive items such as curtains it is best to stick to something that you won't get bored with or date quickly. You can always add pops of colour with accessories such as curtains, vases and throws. You can then easily and inexpensively give the room a refresh or have different sets of accessories for different seasons. How about a neutral soft velour pencil pleat? If you are looking for ready made curtains take a look at Next and Dunelm. You can send for sample swatches online from Next to see whether the fabric and colour works in your room. If you are looking for bespoke curtains then I recommend you find a local curtain lady who will be able to help you with choosing the fabric and colour. I hope this helps. Happy curtain hunting.

I don't know the exact paper but search for faux grasscloth, here's one. Cybele is not a velvet and the shapes are very similar to what you had in mind. Should Romo have a colour way that goes with your scheme ask for a sample. Try to visualise it in your room. Depending what you are trying to achieve (style wise), what you have around it and the size of the window, you could make it work. I have seen it in Roman blinds in a bedroom and it looked lovely
