Comments (4)You've got a neutral base there so tons of colours would work. You could paint the walls - either go for a feature wall with something bold like a teal or olive green, or paint all the walls something paler like duck egg or apple green for example. Or you could add pattern and colour with wallpaper. Pull a palette together of 3 colours to add visual interest. Work on a 60%, 30% and 10% rule for the different colours. For example: 60% neutral, 30% would be accent colour 1 (so paint a wall or bring in wallpaper or add a big rug, some cushions and art), 10% is accent colour 2 which could be a few cushions and decorative bits....See MoreI need help to design the dressing area of my new bedroom
Comments (5)Hi there The best person to help you is a trained designer who can stand with you in the loft and go through your requirements point by point. In order to design well it's important to have a good understanding of the space. What is the Available headroom and slope? How the light comes in? What is your budget? What's going on in the rest of the house? Does the space as designed flow? How tall are you? How physically fit are you? Do you have young children? Where will the ironing board be? Do you like ironing? etc The person who knows the answers to the questions above will come up with a better design than the person who does not know. When you are spending a lot to get it built its best to have it designed well so that you can enjoy the finished product. Hope it makes sense IT...See MorePlease help me ,i am lost,Need help with my living room
Comments (9)I agree with Red80 re furniture layout. There are lots of good things in this room, I just personally find the cushions and blinds clash with the chandelier and wallpaper. I would swap the 2 geometric cushions for softer patterns in lighter grey/white/duck egg. I'd get something with different textures as the cushions fabrics look the same atm? Add accessories to your coffee table, maybe just a pile of books, a vase of flowers, and an "ornament" in wood/ceramic/pewter etc again for texture. When budget allows swap the blinds for Roman blinds. Try blinds 2 go or Tuiss which is their sister company if you're in the UK. I can't remember the exact price but I got pure silk Roman blinds for 2 really large windows for c£450 which sounds a bargain to me although not yet up:) I agree the mirror is a little high. If you can, without leaving a hole on show in the wallpaper, I'd lower it as long as it doesn't reflect the tv! I'm not sure the pics to the left of the window work as they're obscured by the curtains. Perhaps also a taller vase/pot in the blue for the tv cabinet to detract from the tv a little more? Alternatively you could change the wallpaper and the mirror to give the room a contemporary rather than classical feel...See Morecan you help me design my daughter’s window dressings please?
Comments (3)Blind would suit the window better as it’s small; look through fabrics together and ultimately let her choose but guide her towards a pattern (since walls are plain) that will last as a style but go for funky cord and cord knobs. In terms of colour contrast the walls - don’t match. For coral, you’d need green/blue.....See Moreer612
