Thank you! I now recognise it as Zinc which I've been looking at in a Teal colour! Really love the photos in your projects - very inspiring!

Do you want a pattern on the curtains or not? Your colour scheme reminds me of a very famous Mexican architect Ricardo Legoretta who put together reds oranges pinks and purples in a hotel that he was commissioned to design called Camino Real in Mexico DF in the 60s whre I once stayed - it was so weird - unless I had been in that room I would never have imagined huge splashes of these colours together would work - but it looked great - so how about going for red or red fading into pink (how it does on sillk) in quite a heavy warm material - btw LOVE the cushions !

Seems they were sold by American company Pottery Barn. Perhaps I should have explained this in my original post but it was all said as banter... as innocent joking. Me and the previous owner shared a similar sense of humour and telling him was done in regards to a joke he made about how they will probably turn out to be worth more than his baby's new pram. Obviously it was not done to gloat or be malicious, it was all said jokingly. He's also aware, as am I, that there is no way he would have been able to sell them on second hand for even half of their original price... especially with them being so ugly. I personally have always loved this style of sofa. Once we have decorated they will go wonderfully with my old sewing machine and my 1960s Welsh dresser. It's a bit of a niche yes but sadly some of us really do love the old fashioned grandad look. Most of you may think they are hideous or ugly and that I'm an awful person who deserves them however isn't this why we are all here? To share our tastes and ideas? To support one another and give tips? Honestly, I didn't expect to get a verbal bashing about how ugly my home, sofas or even my personality are... I believed it was fairly apparent that it was written as a funny post but as I said, perhaps I should have explained properly. I thought we were here to help each other with our homes, I hate my new home in it's current state and was very reluctant to post photos but believed it may be of use. I doubt I will try again. Sorry to offend you all.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do these detailed plans. You have certainly come up with some ideas that we had not thought about. In particular we wouldn't have thought about having a small sofa against that wall (we had thought the tv would be good here) but actually I think it feels nice to be facing the other way. I also like the piano and the bookcase being at the entrance and feels this would help separate the kitchen from the family room area and also be that I can hear my daughter play whilst I cook and pop round the corner to see her. We have only just created that large opening for the window as wanted as much sun in as possible (and in fact have just had it amended to make it larger so it didn't look so obviously like a garage conversion to us) - so I wouldn't be keen on the second idea of reducing the window size for the piano - but yes you are absolutely correct and we should have thought about furniture placement more than we did as the 15cm of wall to the left of the window has prevented me from running a nice long floor to ceiling bookcase along that wall which is disappointing - but still other areas to put it in. Luckily I can carry out your furniture arrangement as I placed 3 tv points so will see how it feels when we finally get finished. Thank you so much for these plans and the effort to achieve them!
