Need help with side return extension / entrances to bedroom

To help my Mum who is now paralysed following a stroke, I have adapted the dining room of my Victorian semi detached to create a bedroom, and am in the process of creating a side return extension which will extend the existing kitchen and provide a wet room for Mum.
The architect has suggested 2 lots of doors/ entrances , one from bedroom ,and then another from the space outside the wet room to the rest of the kitchen.
Iam not sure about his, and wondered about using pocket doors.
Would be grateful for any advice.
